Okay..so EVERYTHING in the game gives acover save. How do marines negate that? How do they do it best?

Flamers...free in tac squad and nice with a powerfist marine.

Whirwind with incindiary...cheap and long ranged but not particularly accurate.

Combi-flamers... for pretty much anyone nowadays. One shot but a good combo for a powerfist sergeant.

Sternguard dragon fire, combi flamers, flamers and heavy flamers...oh MY! Combi-flamer as before but cheaper, flamers at a cost are still nice... heavy flamers are....INSANE! Who hasn't been wating for this model? Relatively cheap but having the sam eproblem as any flamer weapon...you have to be close to use them. The dragonfire is a nice way to deal with cover saves at ange but PERHAPS not as good at hoard work. The reason I say PERHAPS is that dragonfire can be used at range. That gives them a bit more utility in my eyes than the flamers.

Ironclad with multiple flamer options.... pricey and needs a pod to get where it's going but also heavily armored and easily capable of pulping anything in HTH.

Well Sternguard have the most ways to negate cover but are they the best at the job? With their high price are they costed out by 5 tac marines with flamer/comci-flamer and a powerfist?
