I suppose i should have done this along time ago but to be honest i've completely forgotten too, well hi, i'm Matt i've been wargaming for 12 years (i started back when i was 8 years old) and play 40k and WFB, over the years i have had many armies for both systems the ones that have been consigned to the grave (ultramarines, blood angels, tau, orks, eldar, vampire counts, high elves (4th ed fantasy), dwarfs, warriors of chaos, orcs and goblins) with my current armies being Hawk Lords Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Iron Warriors, High Elves and Wood Elves.

I have played for many years, but about 3 years ago some of my gaming group were talking about there latest GT and the rest of us decided to go aswell since then i've been hooked on tournament gaming, i still play for fun with a few good friends and alot of beer, but i know attend every tournament i can play in as i love the competitive side of the gaming, not that any of us that go to the GT take it seriously we just enjoy that extra competitive edge to the games, still Hi, and if anyone wants a game and lives in our around the West Midlands UK let me know!

Thanks might i trouble you a bit for some of your views on guard. my army at the moment is a ton of fun to play but i am unsure of my army composition and if i should consider dropping some of my units, i play guard mainly to have more infantry as i think guard infantry look great and the tanks i currently own are 2 Russ' a Demolisher and a Griffin (i found it in my loft i was so happy), mainly was just curious to ask what units you thought were worth taking etc?

Infantry is very fun, but not practical by themselves. Orgyn are excellent for hand -2-hand, use conscripts to shield your command squads (chain of command). A squad or two of Heavy Weapons will come in handy just to cover your troops. Tanks are overrated in my opinion, (2 many points) besides only troops can capture objectives. One or two tanks are a good mix, chimera's will get your troops in fast, sentinels are great because they give you a free first move. I have 25,000-30,000 points of Imp Guard, you can never have enough footsloggers!

lol 25,000pts you sure you got enough yeh i can see your point my army usually fields 2 Russ 1 Demolisher, 1 Sentinal with Heavy Flamer (i still dont know why), 3 Ratlings, 5 Conscripts with 2 Meltas/Deepstrike, 1 command platoon with power weapon, 2 meltas, standard, 1 special weapon squad with 2 melta and flamer, Lascannon Teams, Inf Platoon, with 25 men with 3 HEavy Bs and another with 3 ML and one platoon with 2 plasma guns in the units and the command platoon with 2 plasmas, plasma pistol and power weapon

it is by no means powerful but i seem to always have a fun game with it, am looking for some tanith troops for my hardened veterens

having fun is what it's all about. remember infantry can take down anything with enough dice, (well not landraiders). Good luck with the Tanith, I only have 3 squads myself.

i was thinking 2 squads with 3 plasma guns and possibly tossing Gaunt in there to lead all of my plasma gunners!

sounds like a good plan to me
