My question is, that how can orks build suits of armor that offer protection comparable to terminator armor? the waagh can only go so far?

wait wait wait wait... huh..?

A little known fact about the orks is that they are alll psykers. However, none of them know that. This means that the only reason anything of theirs works... is because they think it does.

as said, if orks believe something works, it works, in a space marine log in one of the WD mags there was an extract about ork weapons, and how for some reason they wouldnt work for a marine, yet worked fine for orks.
that and once you strap a ton or so of metal to yourself.

Orks just give off psychic energy, this doesn't make them psykers. This energy is where the Wierdboyz get their power from. Wierdboyz are the only Orks who can use this psychic power, making them psykers.

Mega Armor is made from lots of metal plates placed one upon the other till you have a suit that sports a thickness of about 1.5 feet of metal. Although this may be more efficient than Terminator Armor, it also makes the Ork wearing the Mega Armor weigh in at 2 metric tonnes. This, of course, makes him slower.

Yeah, the crude methods they use to attain comparably powerful armour means they have to use more materials, and, therefore, they weigh more. I may be wrong, but I don't think their armour is so useful because of the psykik energy they emit, I think it's because they slap on a couple of tons of metal.

It is also important to remember that unlike most psykers, orks don't use the warp. A weird boy who gets a 2 or 12 actually overdoses on the Waaagh energy he is channeling. It has a similar effect and is apparently a more dangerous source than the warp (see 'Eadbang result) but it also makes any knowledge of psyker we have from the fluff less applicable to Orks.
