I have finally decided to actually buy some of the assassin models instead of my count's as snipers.

When I arrived at my FLGS, I discovered to my dismay that they had absolutely nothing that I needed assassins included. The next week, the owner told me that they were probably making new models because the store had been unable to order new figures.

Does anyone have any information?

I think your store should check again, assassins are still up on the GW site, meaning stores should still be able to order them. If you get the same answer a second time I'd try another store.

At our store they have been out of sale for months.

Tons of blisters have switched to mail order only in the UK. I can see why with assassins. They don't sell enough to warrant the store space.

Assassins make sense as mail order only. Four blisters, with two varients each, for what are essentially special characters? I don't favor anythign shifting to MO only, but if that means more shelf space for the other sisters stuff (most FLGS's whichhunter section is a bout a third assassins of various types), then great. If this is an attempt to make more room so Sgts. Chronus and Telion can get on the wall, then that's a little lousy.

Making Oblits MO only doens't make any sense to me: they have to be a big seller.

Even being a MO only item your LGS should still be able to get them for you when they place their normal order.

Oblits are too expensive in the first place don't buy them. Just convert them out of termies.

But I think it is just to make room for the new SM. Suck... played against them last night. Couldn't beat them in CC? Weird.

Mega armored nobs are really easy to convert over to oblits. I saved quite a bit of money doing it that way and never had trouble in tournaments using them.

thats a good idea as far as conversion goes. when i still played chaos i tried to think opf ways to convert or scratch build them. oblits are supreme on the table but i agree the minis are incredibly over priced.
