Way to back-peddle Swanson.

I'm unfamiliar with the earlier articles from Swanson, so can you explain the context of your post a bit more? My guess would be that Swanson had complained about Obama being a socialist and now is calling him a capitalist.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

It isn't so much that he has been critical of Obama, but that he has been completely uncritical of the market. The man likes to insist that all positive events in the past 8 years have been the result of deregulation as a means of freeing the individual. In essence, he sees the government as something which extraneous to the market, rather than essential to it. This lead to such gems as:

U.S. Economy: Sturdy as She Goes

Krugman's Depression Economics

and, the height of ideological indolence, Tactical Nukes?.

The man is so wrapped up in free market fervor that he cannot explain anything except by saying "the government did it." And his inability to attribute Obama's victory to a collectivist mindset is just one more rhetorical contortion that betrays an inability to admit defeat. Like saying "They were right, but only for the wrong reasons"\."

Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh.

It always makes me chuckle when (for the most part right-wing americans) insist that private health care is brilliant and State-funded health care is the root of all evil and will inevitably lead to the downfall of the economy...

...because that happens all the time in europe...

While you sleep, they'll be waiting...

Have you thought about the Axis of Evil pension scheme?
