I was thinking with WYSIWYG, i have started nids and was thinking of taking one god fex of my own style, and it would have regeneration, tusked, acid maw and all the rest i would take and thinking that it would be almost impossible to model all of the biomorphs onto a fex, as most are only for the head in the spure and i am very green with green stuff [pun lol] and wouldnt have the confidence at the moment to model them on.

What are your thoughts on the matter?

I think you need to practice your sculpting.

does any one have a god build [doesnt even have to be from nids] and has modelled all upgrades, so i may use it as a guide?

My carnifex was 274 points of close combat goodness and it was all modeled on. I didn't even use green stuff and it ended up looking pretty good.

List what you are using for upgrades and I can tell you how to do it.

Tusked and regeneration are easy, all you need do is glue the regeneration and tusked head halves together. The acid maw would be easy to do in the same way, though you would need to leave one of the other two upgrades for later. The spineback spines that come with the model can easily replicate tusked if you place them front facing on or next to the head.

Bonded exoskeleton is a hard one to model since its technically internal and has more to do with the musculature and bone structure of the creature than anything else. I never modeled it on and just informed my opponents of its existence.

Extended carapace is an easy upgrade as all you really need to do is use one of the extra carapace pieces and place it over the rest either over the head of the carnie or at the back. Most carnifexes with this upgrade do this so you should be able to find pictures.

Flesh hooks are easy to model on if you have any. Just show them firing out of the carnifexes neck area (exposed skin) or out of random chinks in the armor.

Spore cysts are easy since its a backpiece that comes with the model.

Same with tail scyth.

Same with toxin sacs.

Toxic miasma is best modeled with some smoke colored cotton spewing out of the vents on the back of the carnifex. Its basicaly a bunch of smokestacks on its back, though I guess you could green stuff it or simply not model it as its technically a gas and not really material.

Crushing claws and scything talons are easy.

Done! The only hard part is modeling the three head upgrades at the same time, but since you dont need to use the spines for spineback any more they can easily replicate tusked instead.

:edit: Ok, it filtered c h i n k s. I guess its filtering the plural of a racial slur, but honestly thats kinda obtuse. It clearly has a more commonly used meaning (the one i was using).

Endoskeleton is internal, exoskeleton is external and would refer to surface bone features. You can get away with this (like everyone else because Gw provides no indication of what bonded exoskeleton looks like, let alone provide a biomorph. Ideallyb you should be fusing the ribs into a solid sheret of bone with greenstuff or similar, but i dont know anyone who bothers.

As a rule of thumb is the fex is elite it has not got a bonded exoskeleton, but if it is heavy support it does. Born out of the truth that an elite fex cannot effectively buy one and its a no brainer upgrade for a HS fex.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

An exoskeleton is external. The idea of the bonded exoskeleton I had always thought was that over time the internal bone structure of the tyranid fused to the exoskeleton in a more permanent and sturdy way. The fused ribs would make sense, but the greater toughness is due to the creatures ability to withstand internal injuries to a greater degree.
