I have a few questions about cryx to you all. Hopefully you can give me a good reply...

At "Crisis '08" I bought a few items for my cryx. I bought a box mechanithralls, a nightmare, a pistol wraith and a (secondhand) deathjack (€15,- ).

My first question is regarding the deathjack.
- I am missing the card for this jack. It is also not in Remix (which I also bought). Can someone give me the exact (ENGLISH) rules for using this jack (preferably a scan of the card!!) I need everything, including damageboxes!!

The second question is can I use a nightmare (unique jack) in 350 to 400 point games?? I ask because I think it is a cool jack and only slightly more expensive pointswise then a slayer. Do I need opponent permission or anything like that??

Final question is wether or not the following list is a good one:

Deneghra (slayer, deathripper, deathripper, defiler (thats the model I have))
mechanithralls (1 leader 5 troops)
pistol wraith

Can I make a better list for around 370 to 380 points?? All I have is in this post, but for your reading pleasure:
Casters: warwitch Deneghra
Jacks: 2 Deathrippers, defiler, slayer, nightmare, deathjack
units: Mechanithralls
solo's: pistolwraiths

On my to buy list I have:
goreshade (he is a bastard )
skarrlock
necrotech (I like the concept off exploding corpses. must be to much diablo 2 or something )
baneknights (just look too cool to pass up...)

For a deathjack card (50 cents), go to the Privateer Press online store.

http://store.privateerpress.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=7508

Or, Store>Cards>Warmachine Cards>Cryx Cards>Cryx Warjack Cards

You can field a unique warjack at any points level. but, since it's Unique, you can only every field one.

Or buy the Cryx Faction Deck Mk2, which also has nice colour cards for all your old models. Plus you will have all the model rules (up to Superiority) so you can make informed purchases without having to buy all the books.

You can also call PP's "front desk" (number can be found on their site) and let them know you didn't get a card. They'll send one to you free of charge.

I plan on buying the deck, but I could not get it at crisis... Will buy it if I get a chance though....

Because it is a secondhand buy I do not expect them to replace it for nothing. And because I am going to buy the deck I do not want to pay 50 cent for the card (+ postage). And I know you are all thinking he is dutch and therefore cheap (I know where going dutch comes from ). It is not that. I just don't like spending money if it is not needed, even if it is only 50 cent...

thanx for the replys, but I still would like a scan of the card so I can start using it. (have found the french one, but can't really translate. french is not my best language)

Sorry. As I posted earlier, we cannot share stats directly online and it would be improper to
request people send you the information here. Faction deck is your cheapest option per
card.

Another thing you could do is ask your gaming circle if they have a copy of Apotheosis for you
to view and the model's stats would be there. For a grid printout there are army builders that
will create one for your army list. Look up Armies of Immoren or Tabletop Commander and
you should find them.

The upside to using a paper printout is that you don't have to use the cards to track damage.

The only strict limitation of 350 point games is Warcasters and Battlegroup. If you and
your opponent agree (and almost all opponents will agree) then you can include solos
and units in your 350 pt. lists.

The only nightmare limitation is that you can only ever use one in your list and it gains
the most benefits from Deneghra. Other Cryxian warcasters can use it, but

If you get Goreshade, you need Bane Thralls. If you read his feat he summons
a minimum unit of Bane Thralls.

Or for 400 point games try. (Bold indicates new models.)

Warwitch Deneghra
Nightmare
Deathripper
Deathripper
Defiler
Pistol Wraith
6 Mechanithralls inc. Lieutenant

390/400

Although if you're off shopping for a Skarlock and a Necrotech I would recomend:

Warwitch Deneghra
Nightmare
Deathripper
Deathripper
Skarlock
Necrotech
Scrap Thrall

Pistol Wraith
10 Mechanithralls inc. Lieutenant

399/400

From the posts I reduce that the nightmare is worth it... Gonna try it the next time then

Also a question on the power Death Rage.

I can't really understand the use of deathrage. It is a problem I have with the wording I guess... I found the next bit on http://battlecollege.wikispaces.com :

Death Rage: Some units, like Bloat Thralls and Scrap Thralls, are removed from play when they take enough damage to be destroyed. Death Rage will not allow you to delay the effect. These models are still removed from play since Death Rage only prevents destruction. Death Rage is useful for keeping powerful or useful solos like Skarlocks, Necrotechs, Pistol Wraiths, Pirate Crew Quartermasters, and even Deneghra herself alive for an extra turn; provided they're not hit with an attack that removes them from play of course. The Quartermaster benefits more than most, because he gets to make his Tough roll before Death Rage has to be used up.

I still don't quite understand. Can someone explain to me exactly how it wordks and what is the best use for it??

thanxs

On Death Rage:

The quote you provided deals with the difference between Destroyed and Removed From Play (RFP). These are the two different ways in which a models "dies" and is removed from the table.
Normal damage will cause a model to be destroyed. Some special effects will cause a model to be RFP instead of destroyed.

When a model is under the effects of Death Rage and suffers damage or an effect that would destroy it, it is not destroyed until one full round has past.
This only works on effects that "Destroy".

If an effect does not "Destroy" but rather "Removes from Play", Death Rage cannot prevent this.

So, say you put Death Rage on a Mechanithrall during your turn.
Then, during your opponent's turn, a Widowmaker shoots the Mechanithrall and does one point of damage to it. Normally the Mechanithrall would be destroyed, but now Death Rage is triggered instead.
The mechanithrall remains in play for the rest of your opponents turn, and for the entirety of your next turn. Then at the beginning of your opponents next turn, the Mechanithrall is destroyed and is removed from the table.

Now, an example at the 1000 point level. Denegrah is teamed up with Skarre.
Denegrah casts Death Rage on the Mechanithrall.
Skarre casts Sacrificial Lamb and sacrifices the Mechanithrall. Since Sac Lamb causes the Mechanithrall to be Removed From Play instead of simply "destroyed", Death Rage cannot save the Mechanithrall and it is removed from the table immediately.

It's worth noting that RFP effects are uncommon and that you can upkeep Death Rage each turn for just one focus point. This spell on a running Bile Thrall causes fear in players.
