I've never seen, or heard of a Tau falling to the Madness of Chaos. Not even in the archives of the Tau have they documented this. There is only one explanation. The Tau are a part of Chaos. Either that or they have found some way to protect themselves from the Chaos around them, and that secret deserves to be captured sealed away and sent directly to the Ordo Mallus. But honestly what other reason is there? How is it possible? Obviously the Tau are so corrupt that they appear to be pure. Such dagree of corruption is without redemption and Purging by the Purest Fire is the only possible way to obtain such a redemtion. And one more threat to the Emporer will be cleansed.

Any thoughts?

The Tau fluff in the Tau Empire 'dex claims that the Tau do not register in any way into the Warp. This is why they have no psykers.

But there is one instance where a Tau was corrupted. In the 'Fire Warrior' novel, Kais (a Tau Fire Warrior) fights a Lord of Change near the end of the story. The Lord of Change shifts through all 4 powers of Chaos, the last one being Khorne. The Lord of Change's mere presence then made Kais crazy, making him shout "Blood for the Blood God!" and trying to smack the daemon up close. This ends up with Kais losing his left arm. Kais regains himself when he loses his arm, and ends up killing the daemon. Kais was so screwed up after that, his friends locked him up so he could "find his way back to the Path."

I think the point of it all was the find the fact that Tyranids aren't the only Xeno that require purging by holy fire. Tau have been quite arrogent, and on a fluff level I'm not suprised that the Imperiem don't precieve them as a threat. Same goes for the Necrons, they are also Xenos and require purging. I'm not looking forward to the Xenos Hunter Codex, should it EVER come out, only because people will immediatly think it's a Tyranid Hunter book and like I've said before. Tyranids aren't the Only Xenos that require to be Purged.

Rest assured Boron The tyranids will not be the forefront of purging.

After my Battlebrothers have purged Necrons, Eldar Chaos, Orks, Dark Eldar and Tau from the Emporer's holy sight ... then we shall purge the Tyranids
_ _ _ _ _

As Nofasse said, Tau don't register in the warp so aren't able to sucumb to Chaos. I'm sure that in the book, that can be described as mental stress that anyone would suffer under those conditions (except Marines, hurr!)

If the Imperial had their way, all the xeno's would be purged as all pose a threat to the galaxy. Its just that some are more of a priority.

Think of it this way. If you have the choice of a campaign against the Tau Empire and of stopping the new Hive Fleet BigScaryBob .... which would you go for?
The one which you can come back to later when you have time or the one that threatens to destroy every living thing it touches?

Thats my two pence for you to ponder

Around the time the Deamon Hunters book came out WD had pictures of possessed Tau, they are also susceptible to the advossary rules in the codex.

So let's say they're highly resistant to Chaos, not immune.

yea i look at them like hobbits. small weakly little things, that look goofy yet cute, and have a high resistance to evil powers. in the end tho, they too will succumb to that taint. so in that case, a heavy flamer to the face is the only cure

Well as true as that is... then it's not really an Ordo. When I think of Xenohunters, I think of an Inquisitor in a dark dimly light room with a shirtless Tau, cut up like cake breathing heavily as the blood flows from his wounds. The Inquisitor looking down at him while the Tau sits in his lovely Interrogation Chair, gasping for breath as he tries to utter words of repentince and forgiveness. Promising on the Ethereals that the secrets the Ordo Xenos want so badly don't excist and the light fades and all that can be heard are screams of madness and begging for his useless Xeno life.

THAT! is an Inquisition! How can someone do that to the Tyranids? One can do that to Chaos easily, because Daemon hunters don't fight just Daemons, they fight Chaos Space Marines, so the same thing to happen to a Cultist, an Obliterator if they ever captured one lol, as well as Bloodletters, Plague Barrers, and several others. Same goes for the Eldar and the Ordo Hereticus.

That's why I'm not looking forward to the Ordo Xeno...

True, but there are other methods of Interrogation that can be implemented.

For example, captured Tyranids could be strapped down and cut apart to learn about them. Shocks and other stimulation could be given to see how their reactions work. And lastly, Librarians could attempt to delve into the minds of the lower tyranids to learn their secrets (though obviously not the hive mind unless they fancy frying their own minds in the process)

Yeah, but I think they should employ that type of interrogation on Orks. I don't classify Tyranids as a threat to the Ordo Xenos because the Space Marines are pretty much the Ordo Xenos against Tyranids. Way back in the very VERY first game of Rogue Trader it was Tryanids vs. Space Marines. They've been fighting since the begining of time. So leave the Tyranids to those who have been bread since birth to deal with them. The Ordo Xenos needs to focus on things other the Space Marine affairs. Like stopping the WAAGH! or discovering the secrets of Tau and the Ethereals, or even trying to stop to the Necron Appocalypse and the C'tan gods. Not waste bolter ammo and men on trying to stop Tyranids. Sure they're the biggest threat, next to Chaos that is, but still. The Ordo could get so much more from Necrons, Tau, and Orks. They're technology could be advanced millinia by Tau. Psychers could be enhanced to boundless limits by the Orks, [[orcording to fluff they're all psycers and that's why all their crap works]] and so on... so... I guess I'm ranting now lol

what do you think of this so far?

I don't see the point of a Xenohunter codex when the point of most Imperial armed forces is already to hunt Xenos.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Ya that makes sense

@Boron: While you are rite about the Tau being able to advance Imperial technology by leaps and bounds, it would never happen. The Imperium sees there machinery as heretical since they do not recognize the machine spirit. (Although technically the Machine Spirit is heretical as well)
