How does it look so far?
I'm pretty open to suggestion on the Tyrant build-without changing the list I have 70 points to spend on his equipment. His current set-up matches my fluff, but I'd much rather play an effective tyrant than a fluffy one so your input is appreciated. I would really like to keep the unit count the same, but I'm strongly considering dropping one of the Leadbelcher units-that gives me 120 points to spend, below are the changes that I consider the most important-this again is a place where I know you guys can help me.

-The changes I'm considering...
-2 Leadbelchers
+Skull mantle on Butcher #1
+Dispel Scroll on another butcher
+Bellowers on the irongut units?
+1 Gnoblar Trapper
+2 Gnoblar Fighters
-Any remaing points could be spent upgrading my tyrant.

So I guess my questions are...
Is the Tyrant ok as is? Can you give me a better build using 70 points?
Do I need bellowers on my Ironguts?

-Characters-
Tyrant; Mawseeker, Siegebreaker, Jade Lion
Butcher; Bangstick
Butcher; Dispel Scroll
Butcher; Dispel Scroll

-Core-
3 Bulls; Bellower
3 Bulls; Bellower
3 Ironguts; *Tyrant*
3 Ironguts; *Butcher*
3 Ironguts; *Butcher*
3 Ironguts; *Butcher*
8 Gnobblar Trappers;
20 Gnobblar Fighters;

-Special-
2 Leadbelchers; Bellower
2 Leadbelchers; Bellower

-Rare-
Gorger;
Gorger;

A few more questions, which builds are generally considered the most effective on a tyrant? Is there any way to use a hunter effectively? Someone mentioned a build that featured three hunters, has anyone had any luck with that? Would an army based around causing terror and forcing panic checks be worth considering? Demon killer scars, a pair of giants and a butcher with the skull-mantle at it's base.

Give the tyrant the tenderiser. He is meant to take down guys in challenges, or even go toe to toe with MC. Over kill in combat, or improved chance of killing a monster in 1 round of combat is good. The extra 1 strength rarely matters, S7 will do just fine for taking out most things. (chariots only care about 7+, why go higher?) My butcher package is pretty standard I believe: 1 with skullmantle and tenderisor, 1 with bangstick and whatever, and a scroll caddy with 2 scrolls.

I personally don't bother with bellowers in any of my units, if they are fleeing, the often aren't going to be big enough to regroup anyways. I try to keep most my army centered around my tyrant, so breaking only occurs with gnoblars, leadbelchers, and occasionally bulls. All of those suck, so its not really worth the worry. The iron guts have decent leadership, so in the rare chance that my tyrant dies or goes crazy (or stupid) and gets separated from the rest of the army, they should hold together well enough.

Terror usually isn't worth it with ogres, the armies that terror really hurt, are going to be hurt just as bad by fear. Casting brain gobbler with mantle is good too, but this is because you really don't have to spend much in the way of points to do it.

Agree +1 on tenderiser.
It is THE weapon for him to carry.

Bellowers in every unit. Even if 1 model is left (as you have 3 in each unit) you can still rally

I tend to agree that the tenderizer is needed, it will give you an edge vs big monsters
and while d3 wounds might not make you kill extra 1wound rank and file per hit But if they have a champion in there every extra wound that d3 does past his initial hp (so if he had 2 and you did 3) will be -1 to combat res
Take into consideration that + bull rush + all the wounds those other 3 ogres are going to do i tihnk any static combat rank and file block is going to be likely to lose the combat and auto break *thanks to fear*

you have 8casting dice i believe... i think that already gives you an edge trying to cast spells since i doubt alot of armies are going to have 8 DD and you only need 1 dice to cast your spell *3* but if your worried about it at all a tooth gnoblar would give you the favor on 1 dice vs 1 dice dispelling making it even more likely for your spells to go through.

a ward save and a luck gnoblar on the tyrant so that he can go solo if needed and get the job done vs some things may be prudent

THanks guys, you've convinced me on the tenderizer-I'm going to go with the Tenderiser and a wyrdstone necklace, keeps me at the same point cost which means I don't have to lose anything.
Would it be worth it to find a way to get bellowers on my Ironguts? Or a skullmantle and an extra scroll on my butchers? How important is it to get those extra gnoblars to lessen panic?
Where is the first place you would make cuts in the list? Is it more important to have a high ogre count than maxed characters?
