Here it is:

The Hand of the Empire

History:
The Hand of the Empire was one of the founding chapters, although you won’t find any record of them. The Emperor had their records destroyed long ago. Before telling that story, you must learn of the Hand’s origins. The Hand’s HQ is located on the fringe of the northern galaxy. In a five planet system, there is the Hand and the Guard unit assigned to it, Hashburn. The Base of the Hand is Thorst II, a snowy industrial planet near the center of the system. They freely recruit and intermingle with the local population. The Guard unit in the System was based on the lava planet Hashburn, which is named after Caption Hashburn who discovered the planet wile driving orks away from a supply carrier. Of the other planets, Thorst I is uninhabitable. Thorst III is a dense jungle filled with ferial orks and other dangerous creatures. Thorst IV is covered in rocky canyons and mineral deposits, which are used to train Guard and Maine alike. Finally, Thorst V is a planet covered in a massive cloud of electromagnets that has yet to be punched through, although some speculate that within the plant lays the foul reaches of Chaos.
Before the days of the Horace heresy, the Hand of the Empire was a chapter used as a “peace maker”. In other words, they would obliterate planets, aliens, divisions, and chapters that defied the empire. This ensured that the reaches of chaos, aliens, and mutants where kept away from the empire. The many campaigns they participated in where Kilgutz’s WAAAAAGH, the Guardsman uprising of Alissa, the Tau invasion of the North East quadrant, and before that, the purging of the Legion of Fire. (Note: a treaty was made to align temporarily with the Tau to kill the Fire legion, but ended when the legion returned to the Eye of Terror.) Just one month before the Horace heresy, however, the Emperor contacted the primarch of the Hand, Ares, Asking him to search for a new galaxy one of the probes had discovered. He was to take his entire chapter with all of their ships to the location of this new galaxy. As this was a direct order, Ares gathered his chapter and proceeded to the coordinates given to him. However, this movement had been leaked to “chaotic” ears. Horace had given an ambush point to a large chaos fleet, more specifically, the Legion of Fire, who had a hate for the Hand above all else. A massive naval battle commenced on the very edged of the galaxy. Ares, commanding the flagship EMPEROR’S FIST assisted his chapter in a purging of the chaos ships in the area. The Hand took minimally casualties, while the chaos fleet retreated into the Eye of Terror. The Emperor contacted Ares soon after the battle, hearing rumors of a chaos fleet in the area. Ares explained what had happened to him, and requested that his chapter be “removed from all records, documents, and transmission records to prevent further incident”. The Emperor agreed, and informed the librarians and techmarines to do as instructed. The Hand traveled for several years until a plant was seen in the radar. 1st company set down on the planet, only to see strange necron like creatures fleeing from what would soon be know to the galaxy as the menace of the Tryanids. Ares, unfazed, commenced the standard Hand battle plan, in which an orbital bombardment from his flagship rocked the surface as his unique transports, also known as Razorbacks, carried his tactical squads across the surface of this harsh, swampy planet. Terminators, Space Marines, and Scouts fought bravely against the alien menace. Close to the end of the battle, the Tryanids started to flee towards what looked like large, red and blue hills. A hole opened as the menace crawled inside. The Hills, or Tryanid drop ships, pulled off and returned to large objects moving quickly towards the fleet, and fired living rounds. And so, the first engagement against Hive Fleet Behemoth commenced. The Hive damaged the Hands fleet and sped towards a plant inside the Imperial systems, more importantly, Macrage. Inside the galaxy, the Horace heresy was coming to a close. With the Empire in ruins, and the Hand presumed dead, the Emperor had no chance of uniting the galaxy. Little to anyone’s knowledge however, the Hand was on its way back to the galaxy, although it took them many more decades because of the damage they had sustained. Soon the Emperor will hear from the chapter once thought to be lost, and The Hand of the Empire will return to purge the galaxy of the alien, the mutant, and the heretic.

Battle Tactics:

The battle tactics of The Hand of the Empire have been proven effective on countless occasions. After reaching the point of entry, a low level orbital bombardment will be used to “soften” the target enough for scout squads to start picking off enemy units before they have recovered. During this time, marines are moving along with razorback support fire and dreadnought assistance. When the enemy is within range, dreadnought and razorback fire will pin the enemy in place while scouts, landspeeders, marines, and teleported terminators move to flank. This tactic works whenever employed, but has little use in the defense of a planet. During defense missions, all units are put in a defensive location and “dig in” for an enemy attack. Because of their time traveling between galaxies, these tactics have not been modified for some time, and require an update. However, they have work so far. Their naval tactics are very straight forward, target the ship containing the enemy command, then go after the ships capable of deal the most damage, then transports, all the time firing on fighters. This has work ever since the founding of the chapter.

Traits:
The Hand of the Empire has unique traits that make them more recognizable on the battlefield. Their colors are brown and red, which make them unique in the sense that no other chapter uses brown. They also prefer lasguns to auto cannons, because it takes less energy to move lasgun batteries than auto gun shells. Also, their terminators are the only units in The Hand that don’t follow the color scheme of brown, as they are black and blue. Finally, the enemies of the Hand of the Empire are the legion of fire, Red boyz, and craftworld Fun-sek.
