I started a thread in the WFB Army list section '2000pt Daemons any good?' and an error occured, The thread appears on the list but when you click on it there is an error message.

Any ideas?

My apologies, this may happen throughout the day. I am releasing the new dakka gallery stuff to the server (for testing), and part of that requires thumbnails to be generated for 10,000 images. This takes a huge amount of memory and processing power which resulted in the forum being moved down in the server's priority list, which caused the error. It just takes a quick restart to bring it back, but unfortunately it may happen one or two more times today until the thumbnails are all built.

Just providing inormation. I logged out, and I still could not browse. I deleted my dakka cookie, logged back in and then I could browse fine. Here I am, for example.

It should only be for a couple more hours now. I tried to get it all done when the US was sleeping but unfortunately it took longer than expected. The errors will be occurring on and off, so if you could drop me a PM when you come across them then I can patch fix it until the processing is done.

I have a copy of the cookie on my other computer, I will compare them.

I was just about to post this...

There was also fifteen minutes or so with a page that basically said 'Dakka is closed for maintainence,' or similar. Either way I had to spend most of the night on failblog. Fail.

Seriously, though, I hope everything's working out the way it should.

Yeah I should have the glitch pegged down now. It will still occur a couple more times before I can put the fix out as it takes an hour to test each theory, then it is a case of check, release, review again and again. The actual glitch is a memory leak which is why it made it through the testing server unnoticed. This was a release of over 8 months of coding though and the new gallery is going to be well worth a flaky weekend so patience all....
