Well, long ago when Tau first came out I bought a battle force box, put them together and promptly forgot them. After doing a trade or two (thanks again Envy89) I am now a proud owner of a Tau army. Before the trade though I was browsing my FLGS and saw the new(ish) Piranna model...I just knew I had to have one. So I promptly bought one, put it together and painted it up.

Now for the weird part...other than the green being slightly brighter....they are THE SAME paint scheme as what I traded for sight unseen! Bonus! Now I do not have to paint 40+ Firewarriors! Maybe a touch up or two as my scheme is slightly different as I will show in the pics.

Now, in my Fist's blog I have been getting alot of flack for my crap-tacular basing ability. So after seeing what envy did (the basing for the FW's I painted up) I hunkered down, read a TON of posts on here and here is my attempt. Hope you like them, and as always c/c always welcome and asked for!

Firstly, the piranna I was talking about:

Side shot with the base. It was my first go, Im not too thrilled with it...

So here are the firewarriors (some of those that were just primered). I still need to primer mine...:

Side of just one:

Next up is the Devilfish/Hammerhead that I had. As you can see I chopped off the burst cannon and magnatized it so that way I can swap out between a Devilfish or a hammerhead when needed. Neither bit is painted so their not in the pics.

Front:

Next we have a side shot:

And then the required "booty shot. Girls got a wide if you know what I mean....lol

Finally on the 'fish I magnatized the engines. They were broken off anyways, and rather than just glue them on I went ahead and magnatized em. :

And last but certainly not least my commander I bought. Lots of light modification on him. Namely right arm, bith legs and pose. I wanted a pose that looks like hes goin full throttle right at you. I think I got it. I really think I did well on the base and I am going to do this with the rest of them unless you guys can think of something much cooler!

Note: Also, I heard what everyone has been saying about how clean my troopies are, so I dirtied him up a bit. Just a smidge....but I like how it looks.

And a shot of the base.

Also, all four points have been magnatized (both arms and both pack shoulders) and the weapons are being painted now.

Lemme know dakka!

Nice scheme, well executed, suits the style of the models well...

good job all round

A little part of me dies when it thinks of a puritan Inquisitor reading the Rites of Damnation to a heretic then throwing him off a ladder through a table.

Clean and sharp painting.

The green could use some stronger highlights to get more definition to the shapes.

Good start you've got there.

Nice clean lines. Nice table top standard. Highlighting would definitely be a plus to the models, but they already look solid as they are.

That looks great . My only suggestions would be more highlighting on the vehicles and go for more white on the shoulders of the battlesuit.

They look very nice. My only criticism is that they could use more highlighting and things to that effect. Besides that its all really good stuff so far.
