Several images were deleted from one of my retro review galleries including the cover of the WD issue I was reviewing.

http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/images-518-875_Retro%20Review%20-%20Wd218.html

It looks like all the rules entries I scanned are gone too. Looking at the pattern it seems deliberate not a disk error.

Is this a violation of dakka posting policies? A copyright issue?

Just let me know I'm happy to house images on my own site but since they were all mini-game related I think they are appropriate to the site.

Also could I get a PM, even an automated one when content is deleted? If I wasn't working on the article today I would not have noticed.

All of your original photo-dump images uploaded into the gallery when we launched it and during that period all of the moderators and admin went through all the pics and either approved or denied them.

I know I personally denied a bunch of your existing old GW scans before we came to the agreement that we would go ahead and allow out-of-print stuff to be uploaded, so I know for a fact you're going to be missing several pics of GW artwork from your photo-dump thread.

But it seems like you're talking about stuff you *just* uploaded right? If that's the case, the deal is that all images that are uploaded go to a page that moderators check on a daily basis to either approve or deny. This way we will catch any inappropriate or copyrighted images and delete them.

However, like I said we did decide to allow oop stuff, please just make sure you tag it all with the 'copyright GW' tag so that we can easily remove them if GW asks us to.

Now, if your recent sutff has indeed been denied, that can only mean that one or more of the moderators didn't 'get the memo' that we're allowing this stuff, so I'll make another post in the moderator forum about it.

BTW, anything that was originally automatically uploaded from a photo-dump thread could be manually re-uploaded directly from that photo-dump thread (by putting the URL of each pic into the gallery upload page).

Edit: So in short, just upload any of the images that were deleted again, and I'll try to make sure the mods let them through. But just be warned that any GW stuff you upload could potentially end up being pulled at any time, and if you could please tag it all with 'copyright GW' that would make everything a lot easier for us.

Thanks, as I said it looks like art was approved but text was not.

The text was all from 10 year old WD articles (OOP), only excerpts were posted and they were posted for a review/history article. So I think they all fall under fair use. If you disagree (or heaven-forbid GW protests) let me know.

No, like I said, we've decided to go ahead with it until (if) GW raises a stink about it. The deletion likely occurred simply because a moderator didn't realize we had relaxed the policy in regards to oop stuff.

So if you upload the stuff right now, I'll make sure it gets approved for sure.
