I'm personaly thinking of using 4 ccw's or going with 2ccw's & 2 Skorcha's to add a bit of anti-troop fire power,what are your thoughts?

I'd go 3 cc and 1 skorcha.

I've been going with 1 big shoota and 3 arms.

I stuck myself with a Big Shoota, Skorchaz and 2 CCW. It was a great idea when it counted as a Heavy Bolter, Heavy Flamer and 2 CCW. It's painted too nice to tear it apart.

Out of that list, 4 CCW seems to be the best to me. But then I love close combat so I may be a little biased.

Well, close combat is definitely where Deff Dreads excel. They lack the higher BS and higher weapon count of a mob of Killa-Kans. My temptation is to toss on an extra CCW and a reasonable shooting weapon for and Ork with BS2. That means that Big Shootas and Skorchas are in while Rokkit Launchas and Kustom Mega-Blastas are out.

Don't get me wrong, I'm tempted at times to toss a KMB onto a Deff Dread, but I do so realizing that I'm not likely to get the points back out of it. As to Rokkits, I see those as more of an addition to Killa-Kans myself, but that's just me.
