If Gravus activates Brother's Keeper and an Exemplar Seneschal is killed, does it stay standing up, but at 0 hit points until getting healed or dying during the next maintenance phase?

In such condition, is it still able to make free strikes whether or not its restoration ability gets a chance to activate?

Came up in a game tonight. Zombie Seneschal!

When he takes enough damage, he is knocked down instead of killed. The important
part of Restoration is that the Seneschal doesn't die until the controller's next
Maintenance Phase.

Brother's Keeper prevents the Seneschal from being knocked down.

Answer: Zombie Seneschal is still standing, therefore, it can continue making
free strikes or continue its charge, etc.

Wow. The implications of this are staggering. I can make really killer assassination runs using Seneschals that deliberately take free strikes to get at the caster, then stay on their feet long enough to get all their attacks in. Then just make sure to have the Harbinger use Martyrdom for that next-turn insurance to guarantee they'll stay standing.

Plus at 0 wounds, standing, on their turn there's really not a thing they can do to them to get rid of them!

Yep. Anyone who sees you trying to pull something like this off will be trying
to kill Gravus and/or the Seneschal before you get within charge range. It'll
help for them to keep their caster out of a straight line from Seneschal (difficult
terrain stops Protectorate solos cold, for example).

Anything that says "Removed From Play" means this trick won't work, right? Like if I hit them with the Circle's "turn you into a forest" ability?

Yep. The wording on the Seneschal says "takes its last wound" or something.

So RFP effects simply remove them.

Also hoses resurrection effects, iirc.

Yeah, RFP DESTROYS:

Makeda's (Skorne) feat
Thagrosh's (Legion) feat
The Necrotech's (Cryx) ability
Morvahna's (Circle) spell

And pretty much the entire spectrum of "that model didn't really die" effects.

However, 'Tough' still works.

Nah, if I do hordes I'll be doing Everblight - Vayl with lots of beasts. I love the way their beasts look and Vayl was the first PP model I purchased, from how cool she looked [made a good D&D character model too!].
