I was listening to the latest episode of Podhammer on my way to work this morning and they mentioned something that sounded like GW was doing something to get Army Builder shut down... something about IP issues (intellectual property)...
any one hear anything like this? I hope Army Builder doesn't get shut down because I find that very helpful.

Yep, they've been around for 10+ years so i think they are safe.
Armyroster was only a few months old and was in questionable standing from the start, even if they thought they were fine.

Army builder does nothing to appropriate GW IP, so they're pretty safe.
It is a datafile manager. No GW IP are included in the program, only in the datafiles, and they (Wolf Lair) don't do datafiles.
Unpaid gamers doing it for the love of it provide the datafiles.

Does make you wonder why the don't shutdown the volunteers. It would have made sense when they had a competing product a few years back.

I purchased the GW software about 4 years back and was horribly dissappointed. IMHO, the GW product wasn't very well supported, with thier updates taking several months if not longer to get out as downloads. About a year after that I purchased army builder, which has great customer support in the form of up to date downloads and bug fixes.

The GW software was one guy (outside) trying to keep up, he failed and so did the product because of it.. It's a shame, I liked the way it worked, but with no support, it was doomed before it got going.
