Hi guys, I dont know where else to post this so here goes.
I had a bunch of really old OOP Space Orks (from 87 - 91) and I need to know how much they were worth for insurance purposes (my house burned down )

I still dont rememember exactly what I had but I'll try.

24x Ork Boyz (It said Warriors on the slot-tabs so I assume they are the old equivalent)
4x WierdBoyz (Wrydboy??)
2x Warbuggy
4x Wartrakk
6x Warbike
1x Battlewagon? (for the life of me I cannot remember)

Thanks in advance

Worth is relative but if you have photos thier are collectors who would shell out more for out of print mini's. The battlewagon if it's old school epicast and GW is in demand is some parts.

Are those all metal? Yes, pictures would help immensely.

um hey guys he said HIS HOUSE BURNED DOWN! so he wants to know how much he paid for them/what there worth without having colectors in mind im guessing his stuff went up in flames so it would be hard to take pictures.

To the OP i would send a letter to GW about this im sure they would be willing to give you a hand.

the pictures don't have to be his own, he could show us what they are by using pictures from the internet.. Otherwise, we ar just speculating as to what he has, and we could be wrong, and that won't help his insurance much..

If I had to garner a guess, I'd say 350 dollars or more, but then I'd be adding sentiment, painting etc.. Being OOP he could have payed a premium for them off ebay or elsewhere. How are we to know any or all of this? I'm just trying to be helpful.

My estimate (all old 1st and 2nd Ed stuff):

24x Ork Boyz (It said Warriors on the slot-tabs so I assume they are the old equivalent)
Comment: Probably the 2nd Ed plastic Orks. I am guessing these would be valued at $2 each - so that's about $50 there.

4x WierdBoyz (Wrydboy??)
Comment: These were made in metal and came with Minderz, so I'd guess that these are more like $4 each. So that's another $15.

2x Warbuggy
Comment: These were likely metal and came in blisters. I think $10 each is a likely value. $20 total.

4x Wartrakk
Comment: Same as above, likely metal in blisters, so I'd call this $10 each also and $40 total.

6x Warbike
Comment: Not sure how these were packaged back in the day, but assuredly they were all metal. I am saying these are worth at least $8 each. So here's $50 more.

1x Battlewagon? (for the life of me I cannot remember)
Comment: The only Battlewagon ever made (until the new release this month, that is) was a Resin Kit. I expect this will be worth quite a bit. Although I can't say for sure, I would say it is worth at least $50 all by itself. Possibly much more to a collector.

======================
Usually, models are not worth more when painted according to prices I see on eBay.

So $225 is probably about right. If you add more due to time painting or sentimental value, it may be more - but this is about what I think you could get by selling these off a few at a time or as a set.

The battlewagon was available as a plastic kit in the early RT ork days. I had one and sold it for a measly $20.00 before I found out what it was. I'd value it around $50 now.

If any of those prices are accurate, my RT ork collection is probably 2-3 times the size of his....

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell
