I play Cygnar and Legion right now, but am leaning towards picking up a Khador jack force just to have something different to mess around with. With the added bonus that it'll probably cost me under $200 and will only take up one tray in my Army Transport.
So naturally Karchev is the first caster to mind, and I want to focus on models that utilize power attacks and special moves. I enjoy finesse armies, and see that there actually is a fair bit of finesse involved with engaging 30+ models with only 5. Lastly, the sculpt of a model is important to me - so the Behemoth loses points even though it seems like a good unit, I just dislike the sculpt. It would also be a benefit if this could dovetail into an Old Witch force someday, so jacks that work with her, meaning little to no focus/attention, get some props too.
So for 350 my focus would be delivering character rock'em sock'ems with the occasional unearthly rage turn where both character jacks are taking 3 boost hit boost damage swings each. Iron Curtain would probably be upkept on beast and drago as they try to work their way forward.
Start with:
Karchev
Wardog (Are warcaster attachments allowed in MM?)
Beast 09
Drago
For 500, I expect to get less use out of unearthly rage and more mileage out of delivering a long distance curtain. The kodiak is there to get through the terrain that infantry will try to huddle into. The mechaniks are there to of course repair, and to give the list some much-needed spreading out for objective missions.
Add:
Kodiak
2 x 4 mechaniks
For 750 I'm sort of lost, but the greylords seem cool (hah, pun!) to me. Why not take 6 and the Lord for battle wizardry? Admittedly I'm definitely over $200 here and taking up at least 2 trays, so the focus of the mission begins to fade. Can't tow this 4th jack, but at least he runs for free. Using another kodiak is largely because I really like the looks of the model, and feel that they mesh with the workhorse Iron Curtain really well.
Add:
Kodiak
1 x 4 mechaniks
2 x 3 Greylords
Koldun Lord
Anyone out there have any input on this process before I hit send on my Warstore order?

Check the reading on Legends. Are Warcaster attachments a part of the battlegroup?

You thought of fielding Cygnar's Darius? He's very rock 'em sock 'em, was considered better at the time of APOTH, and has lots of sneaky tricks up his sleeve. Plus, his warcaster attachment looks like a little jack!

pVlad, while not uber jack centric, might give you a bit of jack love with his
feat and Signs and Portents.
pVlad
Destroyer
Kodiak
Something like that. Then add Drago and then whatever you want to
fit for 500.

Warcaster attachments are indeed battlegroup. This makes the doggy really cool for Karchev since they'll both benefit from sidearms, which combo's nicely with the dogs base-to-base defense benefit anyways, and the feat.
I am thinking it won't be allowed for MM though since they are specific to warcaster and jacks only.
Darius is good, I just don't get enough cool special moves out of Cygnar heavies. They tend to be more effective when just using their exceptional defensive capabilities and applying direct damage to the target. My interest in Karchev speaks to my willingness to take a drop in efficiency for cool stories. I want to knock a warcaster down with Iron curtain, two-handed throw it at Beast 09 and beat it to death with PS19 + 4d6 autohits. You know, stuff like that.

I can understand that Moz. But, it's hard to beat a Jackhammered Full-Throttled Centurion skewering Sorscha FTW! Or watching your opponents cry as your three heavies repair all the damage on their grid.

He plays Cygnar, so he wants an excuse to buy models from another faction.
Are Skorne Gladiator armies effective? Two fists, Alpha Warbeasts, fun.

Exactly Malfred, I don't really need more stuff on my workbench right now, just means I need to get back to painting ASAP so I can move forward.
I did consider Skorne for a bit. Were it not for dislike of the models; the titans and the Skorne themselves kind of get me down. I really like the cyclops and Rhino models though.
Might be worth waiting to see what kind of warbeast love they get in Meta.

Oh? That's too bad. The titans are my favorite part about the Skorne.

My brother's a big fan of the titans.... All of them... Run a herd of titans, Morghoul, some paingivers and feralgeists and you've got a great 750 point HEAVY army.
Clash of the Titans! 747/750
Morghoul
Bronzeback
Cannoneer
Gladiator
Gladiator
Agonizer (wouldn't be a 'Titan' army without the baby)
Paingivers (5)
Paingivers (5)
Ancestral Guardian
Ferrow Bone Grinders (4)
Feralgeist
Feralgeist
Feralgeist
The super secret tech is to kill your Cannoneer early on and possess him with the Feralgeist to boost all his to hit and dmg rolls (yes, the blast dmg gets boosted too.) Then, you can heal him back to full with the paingivers. (Life they taketh, and life they giveth back.)

The Feralgeist got an errata a few days ago. Spirit Bound warbeasts lose their Faction affiliation (Friendly Skorne warbeast becomes friendly warbeast) and therefore cannot be healed by the Paingivers which specifies "friendly Skorne warbeast." There's other changes too. It's a pretty big nerf.

Right.
I think the only current way to heal a Spiritbound Beast is via the Dire Troll's Snacking ability.
The Feralgeist has lost much of it's raw offensive appeal. It still functions well in the area of denial though.
