I've got an Armorcast Great Gargant, still unopened in the original box, that I'm willing to get rid of for the right price. If I don't find a buyer through means such as this within a week or two, it'll go on ebay, but I'd rather avoid as many charges as possible for the moment.

I live in the SF bay area, and if you happen to as well, we can deal face to face. Otherwise, I'm looking for paypal, money order, or cashier's check. No personal checks unless I can walk into your bank with you to cash it. I actually prefer the money order or cashier's check (again, less charges), but I totally understand that paypal is probably preferred for many buyers.

So essentially, make me an offer either in this thread or as a PM. And please don't offer me like $200 as though that's a good deal. I'd rather keep it than sell it for a fraction of its value.

What would you consider to be an appropriate range?

My only offer so far is from a local gaming store, at $500. I consider that to be low, which isn't surprising since they probably plan on turning around and reselling it on ebay for a profit.

Forgive me for not quoting a high end, but I think that would be a foolish thing for me to do at this time.

I would suggest accepting the $500 offer if i were you.
On both bartertown and ebay , the price goes to any where from $250-$350 with Buy out prices of $400 ( free s&h )
but if its painted to high standard, the price could change of course.

Ooo, bartertown. Thanks, I'll post there too!

Edit: Oh, and I've seen them go for prices like that also, but they're generally assembled and/or painted with questionable skill. I've seen NIB ones go for considerably more than that. Not that I think I'll necessarily get that much this time, but I think it's worth trying, and I think $500 is low.

$500 for a - $60? no wait, $120 kit? That's a tidy profit if there ever was one!

Look at the ebay costs and compare it to the $500 cash you claim to have been offered - maybe you could ask them to sell you $500 at their cost in merchandise? Or more?

You've lost me there. When these were new- and they've been OOP for like 15 years now- they retailed at $350. Only a few thousand were made, so even then they were pretty hard to get. If you can honestly find one for $120, someone is taking a huge loss on it. Are you thinking of something else?

I'd take the $500 and count my lucky stars...

With the new Stompa kit to be released soon, i think the older Gargants will take a hit in popularity. Even now, they tend to sell the lowest compared to Imperial and Eldar.

It is rare on goes over $500, and if you are being offered that in Cash? Jump on it my friend.

To clear things up, they were never at $350 as retail in armorcast store .

but they werent as low as $60 either, i believe the $90 ranged ones are the Eldar scorpions for example.

was like:
$90 scorpion tank
$170 Revenant Titan
$299 Phantom Titan , Warhound.

Like i said , if you really can get $500 for it, please consider it, you wont get a better offer.
I have Phantom that i have checked , looked up on when i was trying to sell it , it never went above
$350 .

These boyz tell the truth, brother. With the release of the new Stompa kit, you won't have nearly as many paying $300 for that kit (which is what I have seen it sell for typically). What I truly suggest is instead kicking every number these fine boyz throw out at you, just come out and say what you want for it. Or, if you believe some git is just going to resale on eBay for profit, might I suggest you sell your prize there instead. Just a suggestion is all.

Moz:
You: "Hold on, you rammed, that's not a tank shock"
Me: "Ok so what is a ram, lets look at the rules."
Rulebook: "A ram is a special kind of tank shock"
You: "So it's a tank shock until it hits a vehicle, and then it's a ram, not a tank shock, and then it goes back to being a tank shock later!"
Me: "Yeah it doesn't really say any of that in here, how about we just play by what's written in here?"

We can agree to disagree there. Some of your other numbers are off too- warhounds weren't that much retail... Reavers were like 240, and warhounds were less than reavers. The great gargant was the most expensive titan armorcast sold, with the phantom coming in second (even though the phantom was taller by a fair margin, the gargant is overall much more massive).

Anyhow, thanks for the input, for those of you who left it constructively.

Not trying to argue with you but ><

Reaver and Revenant are 2 different titans from 2 different armies.

Agreed. You didn't list Reaver at all. I did because I know the Warhounds were less than the Reavers, since I bought both, and I know Reavers were less than 300. So what was the whole point I was trying to make- your price for Warhounds is off.

then you should know by now the gargant price since you already bought 2 before.

all and all, we wont try to stop your sale lol, just letting you know why we wouldnt be paying $500 for it.

And it was our good intentions that we suggested you selling it to the $500 paid by cash in person .

Im planning on building my own GG with 2 stompa kits and a battlewagon box. I'm sure it wont be 500 bucks.

I'd sell it soon if I were you, before the stompa comes out..

I have to jump in here, guys. I've been playing 40K since '87 and purchased more than my fair share of Armorcast titans, back in the day (I have at least 2 of each - Reaver, Warhound, Phantom & Revanant). There were only 300 or so of the Great Gargants produced. Armorcast had already gotten the mold done when they heard that GW would be pulling thier license agreement, so they rushed to get out as many as possible before that happened. I paid $350 for mine. That was the retail price. I've seen them go, over the years, for as much as $850, but I have to agree that with the new stompa coming out, you'll be hard pressed to see those kinds of numbers. Good luck!!!

yup the new stompa means it's time to sell it for $500 while you can IMO.

500 is a good price, i think you should sell it at that. years ago i got into a bidding war for one on ebay and it went up to 900, i lost it, but the next week i got a fresh one for 380 shipped.

they dont have a set price, they go by demand really.

There ain't nearly enough Salvage in this thread!
