I've read the wiki on him and it doesn't say how he dies or why they call the time period of his crusades 'the Macharian Heresy'.

Does anyone have any further info on him?

The old GW site had a whole fluff story about him but the most you can find now is his models pic.

heres a little more about him.

I think I know what happened he after coquering the macharian sector his guardsmen would not fight anymore(This is why it is called a heresy),and he went on with a few loyalist guardsmen and died.

He dies 'young' after conquering much of the known boundaries of the Imperium as the inspiration for his character, Alexander the Great died young after conquering the known world.

The Macharian Hersy begins on is death, I'm guessing it's to do with conquered world near the Halo worshipping Macharius and not the Emperor of Mankind

Yea I have an old IG codex that has a couple paragraphs about that. Basically he pushed his men to the brink (kind of like Alexander the Great) and they physically and mentally just COULD NOT go on. He cursed all of them for not being able to carry on.
