So for Valentine's day this year I decided to think outside the box. My girlfriend has been reading Primal for Hordes and decided to start playing. So I went out and bought and painted her a battle box which was Legion. We sat down, and played a demo so she could get the hang of it. Here we go

Circle
Kaya
Warpwolf
Argus
Argus

Vs.

Lylyth
Carnivean
Shredder
Shredder
Shredder
Shredder

As you can see, basic battle box, both around 275pts. Set up; I deployed Warpwolf in middle, Kaya behind, and an Argus about 6" to each side to protect my flanks. She set up with a wall of Shredders in front of Lylyth, and the Carnivean to Lylyth's right. She went first, moving the wall, moving up with the Carnivean, and Lylyth walking behind her Shredders.

My turn. I move my guys directly up 6" and leave them in their starting formation. Her turn, she moves her Shredders, Lylyth shoots my Argus on the left flank. She scores a hit, boots to deal damage, spends a fury to shot again but the second attack will miss. She moves the Carnivean forces it to use it's animus(spiney growth).

My turn. I activate my Warpwolf first and grant him +2 Str. He charges the Carnivean, hits with both his attack, scores the chain-attack and knocks the Carnivean down with a total of 17 damage... Sad part, I take 9 because she rolled a 5 and 6 for all 3 of my hits.. Ouch... Neither of my Argus are in range to do anything. Kaya activates, moves back behind both the Argus' and casts Spirit Door on the Warpwolf, placing him within 2" of her on the left flank.

Her turn. Lylyth activates and again targets my damaged Argus. She scores a hit, but only deals one damage point due to a roll of 3 and then she heals the Carnivean for 3. Leaves her sitting on 2 Fury. Two Shredders are within range of a charge, forced to go Rabid, and charge both of the Argus'. Shredder 1 takes out the damaged Argus with a great roll of 18, and Shredder 2 only scores a total of 6 to damage the 2nd Argus. Carnivean stands, uses his animus again, and runs into base contact with my Warpwolf.

My turn. Warwolf gives himself +2 Arm and heals 2 for Regeneration(wasn't sure if I was going to spirit door him or the last Argus at this point). Attacks and hits with both attacks, deals low damage due to Arm20 on the Carnivean, and deals himself another 5 damage points. I miss the chain attack with a double 2, needed a 5. I force for another attack, deal myself 1 damage and 4 to the Carnivean. Argus activates and does a Combo-bite on Shredder 1. Boost to hit. Boost to damage. I kill Shredder 1 and decided I cant leave the Argus there. Kaya acitvates. Spends all 6 to heal the Warpwolf. Pops her feat, gains all 6 back, and Spirit doors the Argus.

Her turn. Lylyth goes, pops her feat. Moves behind her Carnivean. Carnivean goes and hits the Warpwolf with a huge attack from it's jaw. Die straight up is not cool people. Scores 11... Gets both attacks from it's claws, hits, and boosts the damage on both. I loose my Warwolf. Shredders(3 left) cant do anything so they advance up.

At this point I know I've lost, but I try to Yo-Yo my Argus for 2 more turns before I run out of board to retreat on. At the end of the game, She had 1 Shredder left that was damaged, had healed the Carnivean all together, damaged my Argus to the point it only had 2-3 points on each spiral, and had me against my own board edge. The game ended when a Rapid Shredder hit the Argus with a great score of 9 on the damage roll..

I have to say that she did very well for her first game. I might have changed the Spirit Door on the Argus and done it to save my Warpwolf thinking back on it.. I have to add, I really hate Spiney Growth. She rolled high with it everytime, and it really started to pick away at my life. Arm 20 aint easy to crack either.

Now the fun part.. You all get to joke on me for loosing to a girl....

Edit- For spelling...

lol Silver. Loosing to your girlfriend now? I guess games get hard without Krueger and a Warden, huh? *Snicker*

I'll have to high-five her for winning when/if I see her on Friday.

Figures your girlfriend would play Legion, though... Though I thought you might've convinced her to give into the glory that is the Trollbloods. Oh well.

Tell her my brother plays Legion and see her reaction (She HATES him.)

Anyways, see you guys Friday (maybe)

From what I understand, her and your brother are friends... here's to cake on your face..

and as far as the Warden.. i just use him.. I really in all honesty dont like him.. he just works well with Krueger. And all in all it wouldn't have mattered. Arm20 from either the Wolf or Warden still doesn't really do anything to the Carnivean unless I roll incredibly high, and they have the same Arm stat if the Wolf warps for Arm.

One error I noted is that the Carnivean cannot run if it started it's activation knocked down. That's specifically prohibited in the knock down rules.

Next time try weaving an Argus through her beasts to get near Lylyth and have Kaya spirit door in for the assassination. That'll teach her.

I completely over-looked running after a knock-down... To be honest though, I had nothing really to deal with the Shredders.

MAT5 with an Argus needing 9 to hit a DEF14.. Even when i boost, I can only hit average... I guess the same goes for her Shredders on my Argus, but Lylyth's feat really took care of that fast anyway..

Kaya isn't really a reliable assassin on her own. But if it's all you have, then I guess you go
for it while you still have your Feat and multiple warbeasts to leach from.

I have her from a battle box.. I use Krueger the most now. I just wanted it to be as fair as possible so we made it a Battle Box vs. Battle Box game.

Otherwise I'd have done Krueger, Woldwarden, and probably 2 Woldwyrds.
