Silly circle people debate his effectiveness, but I’m not thrilled about a model that KDs me if I miss a charge on him, needing 9’s. It’s just risky, and if I miss he just KDs me, then throws me away next turn. No thanks. Luckily, he is really a medium beast with meh stats and poor damage output. His animus is perfect for eDoomy to steal, so that should be fun. If you can walk up to him, he is toast, but if he lives you better hope your fellcaller didn’t need to do anything other than reveille.

Needing a 9 on 3d6 is a 74% chance to hit. So 26% of the time, things go how I want. That's not good enough.

You cant throw a model that's knocked down. So If I miss the attack on a charge or slam, which most of the time a model wont, then i'm getting auto-hits from a P+S 14 model with MAT5 and fury 4. He would have been great as a light. Here is my take on him

Same rules, lower ARM, lower STR, -1 fury. Same animus. So something like this
SPD6 STR8 MAT5 RAT3 DEF12 ARM16
Fury3 at 60-70 pts would have made him great, IMHO...

I'm afraid you're wrong here. In fact you can throw a KD'ed model. Check the PP rules forum.

Maybe you're thinking of slamming. You can't slam a knocked down model.

You are right, I was going off what my book said. It kinda sucks when you have only been playing about 3 months and you have to check everything you read with the internet.. Cant wait till they re-do the books.

It's cheap (sub 100) and can go up to DEF 16 with E-Kaya and it's animus is reasonably costed and very useful. It'll also play well with the Argus guided missile trick. I like it a lot.

[Edit] It'll play well with Saxon Orik (+4 DEF vs. WarBeasts) too, when combined with forced evolution it'll be DEF 20 vs. Charge and Slam attacks with a free attack when you miss (not sure on the timing if you'll be knocked down when he attacks).

But GOD DAMN, that model sucks! So I'll probably never field it unless I can think of a way to convert it..
