I hardly pin anything, but looking at this model I can't help but think, is pinning really
the only way to make it safe for transport?

I haven't put one together yet, but I have built 2 seraphs and I pinned the crap out of them! I usually pin most of my metal models thought because I'd rather go through the trouble now, than later when the model falls and breaks.

I thought I heard of someone on the PP boards who magnetized the wings for transport purposes, but I could be mistaken.

Hope it helps.

Nah, the Seraph was fine for Greenstuff + Glue. If I recall correctly, the wings and
even the contact to the base were all snug fits with plenty of room to hold the model
in place.

The Angelius is a serpentine model that attaches at the tail. I mean, come on!

I pin just about everything. Cordless drill and 1/16-inch FTW.

Pin the bejesus out of it. Its annoying and time consuming, but you'll appreciate it everytime you see the damage of someone else's non-pinned angelius paint job. ;-)

Also, I am a HUGE fan of pinning. My seraph is pinned at the wings and tail, and also double pinned to his base.

The wings slot in really well on the Seraph, though. Glue and Greenstuff filler
ought to hold that sucker together forever.

Angelius, well...

Yeah, maybe I should get some kind of powerdrill, lol.

I have 2 angelius, I didn't pin them. One wing broke the other day when someone crushed it (pinning wouldn't have helped) other than that and the time I dropped one on the ground a year ago (not painted then) I haven't had problems with them.

I would recommend pinning though.

Hey Malf, I think it's far past time to admit you've got a problem. When did you start Legion? And how big is the army?

I've been thinking of getting away from Legion still, though I'm stuck on whether I want to start Trolls or Skorne.

Malfred, I don't have an Angelius, but I couldn't imagine putting it together without pinning it. That said, I've become somewhat anal-retentive about pinning metal models lately (I even pinned my Blighted Nyss Swordsmen), but just by looking at the Angelius....

Yeah dude. I'd say it's worth the trouble to pin it now.

I don't have a problem. It's my brother's Angelius.

Though the Swordsmen and Seraph I posted in my PM blog are mine, all mine.

What I have painted:

Thagrosh
Carnivean
Shredders
Swordsmen
Seraph

I have no problem at all. It's not my fault that PP doesn't release x dollars worth of
Protectorate of Menoth miniatures a month.

x= monthly gaming budget

I pinned the torso to the tail base (it's basically standing on it) but I glued one wing in
place and haven't gotten to the rest of them.

Je refuse!

I'm good, doing my random show up to make fun of Malf's "problem."

And Malf, I'm seconding the pin it now idea. It'll save you a lot of frustration later. At least pin the main wings, the smaller ones might be okay with just glue.
