I'm a life-long metalhead. When other kids were learning nursery rhymes, I was memorizing lyrics to Black Sabbath songs. I went through a punk phase in high school, but I've noticed since then that the punk idiom has been assimilated into metal thanks to bands like Motorhead and Metallica. Now I mostly listen to death metal and black metal. My favorite bands are Nile, Cannibal Corpse and Arch Enemy. However, being a child of the 80's, I do like to watch a show on VH1 Classic called Metal Mania, where they mostly play the videos of the hair-metal bands that I grew up with.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
