what';s the use of getting a Super heavy unless you just plan to play apocalypse games?

My vote are on the 2 LRs because most probably you'd be playing more normal games than apoc ones, so you get the most out of your money.

Why would you buy a stompa for marines?
I assume you are playing marines as you keep offering up LR redeemers...

I agree. There is no point in a superheavy unless you play Apocalypse.

If you just like to build the model, why not, of course.

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

I understand the posts before me, however to you all, isnt it rewarding to own a large model eg Stompa, and have it fully painted sitting around?

Not really, because no one is really gonna see it if it's just sitting there and have little use for it in normal games.

Between the two, I'd go for the super heavy. Then suddenly remember that I don't like super heavies, and buy 3 boxes of guardsmen (plus lunch)

But, as said before, get what complements your list more than your showcase.

I'd say land raiders. You can actually use them in most games, unlike superheavies.

Unless you really need the land raiders I'd go for the cooler, bigger model, myself.

Oklahoma City, Ok.

i think you could find a Baneblade/Shadowsword cheaper than that.
i also agree that unless you plan on playing alot of Apoc. games go
smaller. getting 2 LR Redeemers would be of more use to you. you could
use them in a reg. game or an Apoc. game.

Agreed. If you're a player still building up your armies then it doesn't make sense to buy a superheavy... Alternatively, if you have a pretty expansive collection already then if I was in your shoes I'd go for some kind of superheavy, either the baneblade or its variants. Just too cool.

Angels of Absolution 1500pts
Vostroyans 500pts
Dark Elves 2000pts

Depends on what you need or play. If you play a lot of apocalypse and need a nice transport, stormlord is the way to go. (4 dreads, 20 termies or 40 normal infantry... )

If you do not play apocalypse, then definitely the LRs.

Pretty much what folks here have said. Depends on where your collection is at and what you play. If you play a lot of Apoc games, then the super-heavy may be of use to you. Realistically though, if you're like most folks I know, you'll actually have an Apoc game three or four times per year. Whether it's worth the expenditure really is up to you.

Also, as alarmingrick said, you may be able to find one of the super-heavies cheaper than ticket price, but you'll have to shop around. Even then, don't expect a huge discount since shipping into Canada and currency conversion tends to eat up savings pretty quick. Even at that though, you can probably save ten to twenty bucks, so shopping round for at least a couple of hours isn't a bad idea.

So, I'd say go with Redeemers (as have most folks here) just given that you can use them in most games.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Atm i dont play any games, probably wont be for a long time. i collect them for fun, and they in return collect dust rofl. And once in awhile i convert / paint them ><

Thus its hard for me to decide, they are all pretty cool and useless to me ><

Go Big or Go Home If you want something that looks cool and would be fun to model/paint I would say the Stomp.
But LR are nice looking models as well and again if you do start playing again more useful.
