Dark Angels Neophyte Undergoing Surgeries
|
Sorry about the Warcraft reference just kinda popped in my head and I thought it appropriate and mildly entertaining.
Well, for the most part the only war TT game I play regularly is 40k. Bought about 1500 pts of Dark Angels from a friend about 2 weeks after learning the game even existed. That was about 7 years ago and to date I think I've maybe played 15 games to completion. The thing about 40k that keeps me hooked is the immensely deep setting. Big fan of story and intrigue.
From a strictly reading standpoint, I'm a huge Space Marine fan. I like the look and feel of the armies, particularly the knife edge sanity of my own army, as well as the customization they allow players on the table. However from a players stance, I share the same frustration with many other 40k fans that SM's seem to be the only one's who are getting attention and that they just keep getting better and better. When creating army lists for any game, I never use guardsmen as the basic stat-line to model armies against. I use the Tactical Marine stats. Marines are the norm. The last three games I've played were using Eldar, the only other army I've been able to play. Although I sorely missed having 4's everywhere, and suffered my first unit loss due to falling back off the table edge (With my Harlequins as luck would have it) But being able to move my models more than once due to a lack to plasma cannons was probably the coolest thing ever haha. I know this all seems random, but I figured it would be useful to give some background on myself as a player, and hopefully clarify what I hope to bring to these forums. My posts are long and usually jumbled thought progressions/logic loops, but if you can muddle through my muck I usually have something useful to say. I'm also told that I can be somewhat abrasive with my lame humor, but note that I NEVER aim to insult a person, just their ideas hehe. Feel free to insult mine in the same harmless manner.
I do, however, have one question. If I were to be looking for advice/criticism/ideas concerning the game balance/Fluff Validation of a new faction for 40k that I've been dreaming up, where would be the best place to start that thread? My guess would be the New Rules section, but I don't want to clutter that up with my nonsense if those threads are specifically set aside to be cluttered up with interpretations of "May is not Must" so to speak.
Oh, and congrats to the creators of this site, it looks awesome. First forum I've ever wanted to be active on.
And I added a poll just to figure out how... Sorry if it's inappropriate here...

40K You Make The Call is for discussing/disputing the interpretation of current GW rules.
40K Proposed Rules is for designing your own (not GW) rules mechanics for playing 40K, like house rules or special chacter rules, or your own chapter rules.
40K Fluff For Nutters is for discussing/disputing/and/or creating the background/storyline/fluff of 40K

"Loyalist" he is not.
Still loyal to the Emperor though? Possible.
Regardless, I doubt we'll hear much more about him until the Dark Angels get a new codex, if then.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it. |

So there is a distinction between Loyalist and loyal to the emperor in the fanbase. Woo! My ideas might be worth fleshing out. Thanks. Look for me to post something in the proposed rules later on.
