Over the years GW has had more ideas than they've had time to make models and rules for. So some great armies are reduced to being 'counts as' use the models you like with someone else's rules. So I've seen Genestealer Cults as Orks, Guard and Tyranids.

The new gallery is great for seeing some of the counts as armies out there. there's more than I expected.

Which is your favorite idea (rather than invidual army)?

Definately AdMech, but then i'm biased as some of the featured pictures are mine! The whole concept of steampunky twsted technology as a religeon is just so freakin cool.

Additionally, there are literally no limits to how you can do their counts as- I run mine as tyranids, but could easily use the same models (with a few alterations) as deamons or CSM or necrons or orks or whatever.

I've been a fan of the GS Cult since their release. The fluff and models is what does it for me. Now, if I could just get my hands on another dozen or so hybrids, I'd have a great base for Orks or IG.
