Hi, I am Jason and I am a new warhammer player. I have played Magic the Gathering for the past few months at my local game store and when ever I saw warhammer people I thought the game looked really badass. A week or so ago I bought the AoBR set and I have been enjoying playing on my dining room table with my older brother.

After flipping through the codex of each race and learning a little about each of their flavor and play style I decided I liked the orks. They seem to be the most fun on and off the game board

I don't have much in terms of an army, Just the AoBR stuff and I have 20 'ard boyz commin' in the mail soon. I am looking to play in the 1000 to 1500 bracket right now, I have seen some lists on your forums that I might follow. Still got a lot of painting ahead of me @_@.

I am looking to collect more boyz and focus on my orks for the time being. I live in Tampa Florida, hopefully I will learn a lot from this place.

Welcome, WhiteOutMouse.
Love the avatar!

AoBR is a great intro to WH40k. Some nice cheap models, all the rules, and some scenarios/fluff
A second AoBR set can really bulk out your army, and give you some models as base for conversions, if you are into that.

Writing lists and painting models - yes, prepare to spend all of your spare time doing this!

I'd suggest getting what you have painted, get a few games under your belt and then look to expanding your collection.
A good read through some lists will give you an idea of what sort of thing you might enjoy - Orkses are FUN, so go with what takes your fancy and ENJOY!

Congrats on being cool enough to think Orks are the gak! Dont get discouraged when painting them, simply because it takes awhile seeing as there are so many of them.
Welcome to the game and welcome to dakka. You will learn ALOT reading the forums
