Welcome to Dakka :]

Watch out, white is a hard colour to pull off well!

For the clothes underneath, why not go for Shadow Grey, highlighted with Space Wolves Grey. Both have a strong bluey tinge, but are perhaps not so flamboyant as pure blue!

For Reds, maybe Scab Red and Red Gore as the highlight but with lots of Ogryn Flesh Washes over it to give it a more natural tone. (Ogryn Flesh Wash is a nice red-brown) :]

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

Thanks for the tip, Do you think i could change the colour of the Cloth armour from squad to squad? or do yo think it would give the Army a Pathwork look?
Im trying to go for the classic High-tech, Clean, crisp, "Tau" look.
Plus really savage kroot, i thnk it will contrast well.
Also, Seeins as I only have the 2001 codex (gonna try and eventually get the new one), anyone have anay info on the vespid dudes?

Hi,

It's been quite some time since my last post here. Between work and general laziness to login to these boards, I've sort of devolved into some variant of Lurker. But now I'm back, with yet another model, I wonder how long this'll last before I relapse to lurking.

Anyway, this is basically a Piranha, built OOB and painted with Vallejo colours. I regret the fact that I don't have a bleedin' airbrush here, since the white areas would have looked so much better if I'd sprayed it rather than attempting to handbrush. Anyway, on to a mini-review before the pictures.

Mini-review
The Piranha is a nice little kit. Fair amount of detail, fits relatively well with the Tau aesthetic, and is easy to assemble with no major fit problems. There were some seams in between the upper part of the body and the sides, as well as along the tops and bottoms of the engines, but that was easily fixed with SGT. The drones fit snugly into their slots, and have remained secure through whatever acrobatics I've had the Piranha perform on its ball-and-socket stand. My only gripe with this kit is the crew. The crew figures are horrid. While their helmets and armour are relatively well done, I found the detail on the arms to be exceedingly soft and dodgy to the point where I could barely distinguish where shoulder plate ended and jumpsuit started. Barring that, I've found this to be quite a good build.

Now the pics:

Also, since I'm feeling buyer's guilt, the thing is now up on eBay for the same price I bought it at, go have a look!
