Hiya,

I signed up about two months ago, and ever since the board has been nagging me to make my first forum post. So why the hell not, right?

I'm Si, I'm going on 30, based in Doncaster in the UK. Been collecting 40k since I started highschool, 18years ago or so. And now I feel really old.

Never really been interested in the gaming side. Had a few games of 2nd ed back in the day, but was always far more interested in the modelling side of things. I scratch build a load of my own stuff, trying to make it as unique as possible. Or at least interesting to me. I have something akin to adhd when it comes to conversion projects. Or "that dog has somebody's ham" syndrome. I start with the best of intentions then get distracted onto something else which will be the BEST EVER. Which is why I tend not to post project logs of my stuff. I keep a record on my own site, then once I'm certain I'm going to get far enough into a project to make it worthwhile, I'll show it to the world on a few forums. I hope dakkadakka can be one of them.

Armies wise I have ancient ultras and blood angels sitting in a glass cabinet. We won't talk about the painting. Still trying to finish the dark angels I started when I was 17. They're pretty much there, or were until I decided to add a load of ravenwing. I've got a guard army which is about to become two. I'm going to split out the Praetorian's and have them as a separate faction. I'm also working on an army of rebel grot meks, which will have a few allied ork pirates. Somewhere, though I dunno where, I have about 1500pts (2nd ed pts that is ) of CSM. Not sure what happened to them, they'll be hiding in a box I'm sure.

So yeah, that's you up to speed on me then. I have a bad habit of being quite passive in forums, so I'm making a concerted effort to get to know a few more 40kers. At present the only real experience I get of them is the very rare visits to the local creche.. erm GW store. Not my kinda place shall we say. But I'm adamant in my belief most of you are intelligent normal people who don't swing from lampshades and suck the lead out of oops minis. Right?

Do I win a prize for most long winded introductory post? Damnit. I was going to go with "HEY" but it seemed trite.

Cheers,
Si

92% of teens have moved on to rap. If you are one of the 8% who still listen to real music, copy and paste this into your sig.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment
