When you move a grunt, it has to stay within formation. When you move the leader, does
it have to keep the grunts in formation?

Can you check Command radius at any time?

Good questions for the field test database. I think the answer to your first question is no. I believe the wording is "with the exception of the leader..."

I didn't catch if the command radius had specific measuring rules.

I didn't see anything about when you can check it, but I would assume it's anytime otherwise, why would you ever check it?

Here it is: "A unit's controller can measure the distance between the Unit Commander and a model in its unit anytime during that unit's activation."

So you can't radar with it, but you can use it to guesstimate follow up charges.

Right, I caught that last night too when I double checked. It is also clear that the unit commander 'is always in formation' and can therefore move however he likes. Basically, you want to move him first if your unit is running or something like that.
