I know that the "Schedule a game" forum sometimes gets used for this, but I know that I, for one, would be more likely to check/respond to a dedicated tournament forum.

I dont think there are enough tournaments out there to justify a whole forum for it really. The schedule a game forum does not really work as well as it could either. Perhaps a sticky post asking people to add [TOURNAMENT] before their subject title if it is tournament related would be ok?

Maybe just rename Schedule a Game to Tournaments/Events/Conventions.

Schedule a game never did work well in all the years of dakka.

If you are the kind of person who really needs to use such a thing because of rural living, being new etc. It just doesn't work in my experience. If you are rural you are pretty much screwed.

And for those who live in bigger cities, the service is wasted as so many other forums are dedicated to their own gaming clubs that a public get together forum is basically wasted.

I do like how Grey Death is collecting people who live in the areas for directory purposes. Its the best thing to come to the schedule a game forum since forever. Seriously, that whole forum could be condensed down to grey deaths post and it would work better.

Just name it "Find-a-Game", move all tournament announcements to there that people spam in N&R, keep grey death's post stickied and call it a day.
