So, two questions about the BFG box set.
Most important: what was included in the box?
Second: If you could revise the box set, keeping to the chaos/imperium theme, what ships would you include?
I'm looking to get back into BFG, but no one in my group has a fleet to play against. I figured I'd make it easy and get a couple small (1000ish pts) fleets together and see where things go.

4 chaos and 4 imperial cruisers, each with paletised weapons mounts so you can choose different configurations.
Note however that you dont get enough weapons battery pallets for the Imperials to play around too much without taking a Gothic or two in your fleet.
I think the ship models included are correct, it would have been nice to see plastic escort sprues, but wishes are fishes.
The opnly thing lacking from the Chaos vs Imperial list in its entirity is a chaos light cruiser. Chaos fleets tend to end up samey with plastic cruisers, some escorts and the three options of battleship.

Yeah, and Chaos tends to have NOTHING but Styx fighter carriers.

Not possible both from the lack of pallets, you can only make two Styx, also as a heavy cruiser you need two cruisers to support it.
Four Devastations is possible and has a nasty broadside to offer with 60cm side lances. If you want a Devastation heavy fleet you are better off with two an Acheron and a Slaughter for the flanks.

The starter box also comes with paper counters for asteroids, the bearing compass, fighters and bombers, etc that you really need to play. You could use "anything you want" for fighter/bomber markers, but the tokens are really the easiest to work with.
As an aside, though, going to the trouble of buying the little pewter fighters and torpedoes really adds a lot to the game's appearance when playing.
4 cruisers each makes for some pretty good games. A mars class battlecruiser, a Dictator carrier, and two lunar class cruisers gives you a really solid fleet for Imperials, and a Styx, 2 Slaughters, and a Devastation or Murder/Carnage is a good chaos fleet.

Any idea where I can find the order dice that came with the box set? I don't see anything on GWs site, and I haven't been able to find any knock offs.

You might be able to find them on eBay or something.
The dice are only really markers, you don't ever have to roll the special order dice. You can easily make your own tokens to mark special orders.
The game is good enough, that I wouldn't recommend letting a lack of special order dice hinder you from playing the game.

It's really a question of class. What is the classiest way to do this without dice?
On that note, I need to figure out the best martini to go with BFG. Would a tux be overdressing?

Did Gale Force 9 do order chips for BFG? I know they did for ACTA, which used a similar-ish system.
