I know in the wake of MK II that everyone is excited about Warmachine, but I'm still having trouble coming up with a list that I enjoy and is viable to field. I've tryed several different warlocks, different selection of beasts, and tried the various solos that are offered. With that I decided to make a blog with the help of dakka to see how other people break down cirlce, use of tactics, and different lists that other people find useful. So here is what I own and play with.

Warlocks:
Krueger
Kaya
Kromac
Baldur

Beasts:
Pureblood Warpwolf
Woldwarden
Warpwolf (x3)
Gnarlhorn Satyr
Woldwyrd (x2)
Argus (x2)

Infantry:
Druids of Orboros
Druid OVerseer UA
Tharn Ravengers (6)
Tharn Shaman UA
Tharn Bloodtrackers (10)
Shifting Stones (3)

Solo:
Sentry Stone & Mannikin
Tharn Ravenger White Mane
Blackclad Wayfarer
War Wolf

Minions:
Gatorman Posse (5)
Farrow Bone Grinders (4)

What I've learned from playing: Krueger has more offensive power in terms of Infantry. His feat can clear units and his Forked Lightning spell through a Woldwarden is just as nasty. Sky Borne can help him leave melee with anyone, and Tornado can always be great because it will slam a model away.

Baldur is a great board control warlock. Between his feat and Rapid Growth, he can really slow movement from the other player and can move very quickly with the offset of a forest within 12" of him. He has a high MAT and high P+S that causes -3DEF and SPD1. Earth Spikes are great with infantry, and great with the Warden, only thing I dislike here is that he's one less fury then Krueger.

My beasts all play a different role. My Satyr doesn't see as much action as the Warpwolf since the Wolf has a chain attack that causes an auto-inflict 6 to a beast and knock-down. My Pureblood hasn't been played with any caster other then Kromac. The Woldwyrd has become a new favorite because of it's denial abilities and it can burn fury from it's self.

I'm open to any comments, suggestions, list ideas, or possible new units I should invest in. Any advice on a unit for a list will be tried. I have a tournament on the 24th of this month an I'm hoping to do better then my last one. I've been playing for a little over four months now and have grown alot, but I would like to hear from other fellow players with ideas on how I can improve my gaming. Thanks Dakka

You should definitely try out the Wolves of Orboros with their Unit Attachment. They are mighty sweet.

They are normally MAT 10 on their charge attacks (Powerful Charge + Wolfpack), and can quite literally hit anything in the game with ease. Plus they are P+S 9 weapon masters on their mini-feat charge turn. All that and they can still CMA when needed.

The only problem with them is their quite low DEF and ARM. Basically, they die if you look at them too hard. However, because they deal damage so well without support, you can concentrate on providing them with defensive support.

I love using them with Kaya since they need no offensive support, and she provides fantastic defensive support through Cloak of Mists, and can keep up with them with Spirit Door.

Once Morriag is released, they will be even easier to keep alive. Prowl combined with natural terrain and our abundance of concealment granting abilities will provide them with stealth most of the time.
