Welcome to part 3 of the Panic Campaign Battle Report

A bit of a deviation from Chaos tonight as Pat and I are eager to field our new Stompas and Super Heavies. We will be returning to Chaos next week.

Imperial forces on their way to reinforce the Spacemarines are ambushed by Warboss Bolt`ead while re-supplying on a Imperial planet called Somidius 3, One Warp jump away from The Heart of Uciloenan. Warboss Bolt`ead has gotten separated from his own Waaaagh in a Warp storm and is looking for Imperial ships to hijack his way back.

Somidius 3 is plagued by chemical storms so we modified the game a bit. Only troops embarked on Vehicles could count as scoring and would only hold an objective on a 4+ otherwise.

Pat’s Guard

Sol’s Orks

Pat chose Vital Objective and I chose Rok `Em Boyz (the remains of the orks Kill Kruzer in orbit) I chose 1 minute to set up and won . Pat Failed to Seize Initiative.
…………………………………………………………………………………….

Top of turn One

Orks advance and target the only things that will by-pass their Dread Mob Force Field; the Shadow Swords. They Succeed in damaging and shaking both D weapons.

Imperial forces return fire with everything they got but , unlike any of the past 6 games I have played against Pat, my rolls are amazing. I get barely a scratch.

………………………………………………………………………………………

Top of turn Two

Orks continue to concentrate fire on the Shadowswords, confident in their ability to charge the forward tanks. My two Kustom Stompas with Def Arsenals roll ridiculously well and the Shadowswords are now Ex-Shadowswords.

The second wave of Imperial Forces arrive as the forward tanks begin to pull back.

………………………………………………………………………….

Top of turn Three

The Orks begin to dine on the front line of tanks as the Imperial forces cannot seem to by-pass the Dread Mob Force Field. I cannot stop rolling 4+. Its like magic.

The rest of the Imperial forces arrive and are terrified to see the state of their army. Pat is ready to conceed but we decide to play one last turn. This now gives him a fair chance to win as he is still holding more objectives than I, including his Vital Objective.

………………………………………………………………………………………….
Top of the Fourth

Orks move in and finish off the front lines while popping nearly all the transports save the Stormlords. I have not lost a single Structure Point. The Orks look set to take the Imperial Ship being held in place by (fluff) the combined Mek Stompa Lifta Dropas as the remains of the Orks Kill Kruzer falls harmlessly in the middle of the warzone.

Pats last turn could easily earn him the game. He has a Stormlords on one Objective and a squad (out side of Vehicle) on another and two squads (outside of a Vehicle ) on his Vital Objective. I only Have three Objectives. Pat needs to roll a 4+ as his troops hope to hold their positions in the caustic environment. Pat Fails ALL rolls. ORKS (thus Chaos) WIN!!!! Pat Actually rolled snake-eyes for his vital objective. Ouch.

The London to Hawai`i campaign is now Chaos 2, Loyalists 1 as the Imperial forces are delayed by this loss.

Thanks to Pat for sticking it out. Thanks to Mork and Gork (and the color blue) for the luck.

And thanks to you for checking it out!!

Stay tuned as Panic and krew will be posting part 4 soon!

Holy Crap!!!!!! I've never seen so much of the cool big stuff painted and on the table outside of a GW event.

Thanks for posting. I look forward to the other reports.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

I love it. A massive battle and it probably took less time to do the movement phase than a 1,500 pt battle with loads of troops.

nice paint also!

Very shiny bunch of super heavies. That's possibly the first super-heavy batrep I've seen with everything on the field painted, and the quality is very, very nice. Well done. The big face-mounted cannons seem particularly orky, not a variation I've seen before, but an amusing one.

Hello Guardsmen, look at your Leman, now back to mine, now back to your Leman, now back to mine. Sadly, your Leman isn't mine, but if they stopped using standard engines and switched to Lucifer Pattern, they could move like they're mine. Look down, back up. Where are you? Your in a battlefield with the Rhino your Leman could move like. Whats in your hand, back at me, I have it, it's the fire control for the Twin-linked Assault Cannons aimed at you. Look again, it's a Deep-Striked Land-Raider. Anything is possible when your Tanks move like Blood Angels, and not like Guardsmen. I'm on a Baneblade.

so Stompa's trump Banes everytime? Or is it with the rolls of the dice too?

Wait!

Let me think... You live on Honolulu, have this really great room for playing 40k with all the beautiful tables and boxes of dice and templates.
You can play barefoot in summer dress and behind the walls, looking out of that window, there is jungle. You have fantastic armies which got
so much love as most of them are rogue trader models, with a stunning paint job. You do battle reports with a guy taking great shots and now
you have even a bunch of ultra heavies, also lovely painted!

Oh dude, that must be 40k heaven...

awaiting more holiday reports, great job!
