Playtested our new armies and new (local?) modified RoE rules for an upcoming tournament. I haven't played since 3:rd and back then I played nids. Simon havn't played Eldar before but he has lots and lots of experience, more from 4:th than 5:th though. My list: Avatar Seercouncil (5 locks, fortune, 3 destructors, enhance, embolden) in serpent with cannons and stones Harlies (troupemaster, shadowseer, 5 with kisses and 1 without) 10 guardians w/scatter 10 guardians w/scatter in serpent with TL BL 5 pathfinders 3 jetbikes 2 x prisms w/stones His list (from memory) Avatar 7 striking scorpions (exarch, claw shadowstrike) 5 firedragons 6 warp spiders (exarch, dual spinners, powerblades) 10 guardians w/scatter (he borrowed some of my models) 10 DA with exarch, powerweapon, ss and defend 10 DA (exarch, dual catapults and bladestorm) in serpent with s-cannons 5 DA 2 x falcons with EML, stones and holo-field My objectives: Primary: move both objectives from no-mans-land to my deployment and hold them Secondary: destroy his serpent His objectives: Primary: Control both objectives placed in our deployment zones. Secondary: put two units in one of my corners Deployment: table halves with pushback 18". Objectives placed in no-mans-land on the line separating. Dawn of war. Turn 1 He begins with (although illegal we read later) claming both middle objectives and moving them towards his deployment zone. He takes out one pathfinder with his far off falcon carrying 5 DA (the other holds the fire dragons. Seeing my primary objectives running away I throw out my council and destructor his DA bye bye. Even manages to put two wounds of his avatar. My other shooting was ineffective. Turn 2 Feeling very good with myself I watch in horror as he unloads his other avengers and bladestorm my council. I roll really bad leaving only farseer and one lock standing. His spiders does the rest. He olso destroys the cannons on their serpent. I move up and combine the prisms and takes out his spiders. I try to ram his serpent but he dodges. I fire everything at his serpent but nothing even glances. Turn 3 He loads his DA and flies away with his serpent. He shoots at my prism with his other falcon: pen-explodes ;(. He outflanks with his scorps killing one unit of guardians. He also immobilises my BL serpent. My clowns take out the scorps. things are otherwise looking grimmer and grimmer. I chance and fly the jetbikes over to grab one objective. I hide them behind the prism and serpent. My bright lance once again fail to hit his serpent, although my pathfinders manage to do a crew shaken. Turn 4 Flying around he manages to get to my home obj. with his 5 DA in falcon. He tries everythin with his avatar at my prism (having moved flat out). He gets one pen that rolls a 6 (grrrrr...). His guardian scatterlaser then takes out 2 jetbikes, but thanks to being fearless, they hold. I hide my jetbike in cover and meet up with my guardians. If I can only get to the other objective and hold I win primary (it scatter into my deplowment zone at the start). My clowns cant do much so I they give cover to guardians. I shoot my BL at his serpent but once again fail to his (damn it!). I try to ram again but he dodges again. I assault his avatar with mine and for that my avatar gets 2 wounds. Turn 5 He unloads his 10 DA and bladestorm my clowns down to the shadowseer. He then runs away with his serpent to deny me secondary. He manages to kill some guardians with his sitting falcon but they hold. My avatar finishes of his 2 wounds and wins combat. consolidates towards his guardians. I charge and wipe out his guardians denying him primary (thank god!). I move up my shadowseer to block his incoming charge from the DA. I shoot everything else at his serpent but once again fail to even glance. I them try to ram but de dodges (well this is a surprise!). Turn 6 He feels he myst secure second objective so he flat out his falcons into one corner. I get happy as I see that I have a big chance to get my primary then, only he manages to find a spot where hi can run around my clown and assault my guardians (0,01 inch in his favor...grrrrrrrrr). Noone flees that combat. I move my jetbike over to the other objective. I charge his DA with my clown and hope to win combat and consolidate to my other objective. It looks good and his DA must make a morale check of fall back: He must roll 7 or under...he rolls 7. Game ends with him getting secondary to my getting nothing. In hindsight I think I unloaded my council too early, otherwise the dicegods just favored him I won't even write up the rematch. Lets just say that He manages to completely surround my serpent with the council and bang (well thats alot of points that didn't do anything that game). He also managed to get an outflank doublecharge on 2 of my troop choices. The dice gods rewarded me with more 1 rools than ever so basically that game was slaughter ;(
