Heya, guys! I am as noob as they come where 40k is concerned. I purchased AoBR a couple of weeks ago and I am about 25% done with painting my Orks! Got a long ways to go, but I am excited to finish them. I decided to build an Ork army as they seem to be an enormous amount of fun due to their playablity, model conversions, and - of course - storyline. Not to mention the AoBR is cheap as hell. I added to the Black Reach models w/ the purchase of the Codex, a box of Gretchin, and a Lobba. My collection barely makes 500 points, but I am working on it.

As a matter of fact (and not sure if I should post this here) here is what I plan on doing to reach about 1,000 points without spending TOO much money. I hope some of you 'ard boyz will let me know what you think.

1 - AoBR (can't beat that many orks and nobz for the price + the SMs will give me a second army to mess with)
1 - Nobz x5 (Would rather get 2 boxes, but the AoBR will provide me with enough for now and I can convert others with Nobz bitz & homemade stuff)
1 - Painboy (Haven't played the game yet, but these guys look valuable)
1 - Tankbustasx5 / Squig x2 (Once again - would rather have 2 boxes, but I have to conserve the cash)
1 - Lootasx5 (I don't plan on being too shooty, but one of these mobs with a Mek has GOT to be valuable in one way or another)

I think this will give me a decent start, especially if I make 2 boyz Rokkit Boyz.

Shortly after this stuff I'd like to get a Trukk and finish off my Lobba and Gretchin mobs by bringing them to full strength.

Also - any ideas for making 'ard boys cheap?

EDIT: That list shows a SECOND box of AoBR, by the way, not the original one I already mentioned.

Welcome,well for making hard boys you could add lots of extra armour with plasticard,or my fav way to do em is to buy a box of black orks and use there choppas and heavy armour bits to make a ard boy.
