Somewhere.

I'd say yes. It has some pretty unpleasant tricks in it, plus it allows you Ironclad Dreadnaughts and Dreadnaughts, Bikers, Land Speeders, Vindicators, Predetors and all the Land Raider and it's variants, and all there war gear and rules.

So you get the newest and nastiest of the Vanilla Space Marine vehicles plus all the joy of the Space Wolves infantry. The only things you miss out on are Sternguard, Honour Guard, Vaguard and there ilk, and that's not a huge loss for Space Wolves.

100% useful mate. Grey Hunters are the second best Infantry unit in the game for their role (only Chaos Marines are better because they use that rare pre heresy technology known as "holsters") and our Venerable Dreads kick Nilla ones asses left right and centre.

As we use the new rules for Everything except our better vendread, we have all the good stuff of the Nillas and none of the useless rubbish. 15 Blood Claws + Character in a LRC anyone? Delicious win I say.

One thing you need to be aware of is that under the last printing of the codex, the lines for Storm Caller were changed to say you only go first when assaulted. Previously, lines in the rulebook and FAQ made it clear you only go first when assaulted, however, early editions of the codex are ambiguous and some SW players who are not.....what's the term....sporting?....insist they can still go first when assaulting, despite the evidence against doing so.

Meh. Wolf Guard > Codex whateverguard.

And SW are positively lethal if equipped right. You haven't got the broken stuff like Chaos' Lash, but thanks to a 9 yr old Codex (power creep my left foot ) you get 3+ storm shields for ridiculously cheap, and 5-man WG squads with 3 heavy weapons (my personal fave is the cyclone launcher, but YMMV).
And what Gwarl said about our Ven dreads is 100% true. In anything over 1000 pts it's in, and often under it, too.

1000 Points? My Ven is ALWAYS HQ for my local 750 Point games. And yes, the Cyclones are the best choice for Termie Wolf Guard, the only downside is you cannot take Cyclone, Storm Bolter and CCW like Nillas, but who cares about a Storm Bolter TBFH Not to mention our Terminators use Drop pods, not teleporting, so while smaller, are much more consistent and deadly.

Also, Wolf Scouts. A Lot of people I know go "pffft" they are useless, but they soon learn after 6 Meltabombs come and fry their tanks that were held back. Only time I don't use them us against Nids and Necrons (gee, I wonder why ) and with the inclusion of the Storm means that, while you Sacrifice OBEL you get to outflank/scout hax.

And Not to mention Space Wolves are the Best at Drop Pod Lists. Dreadnoughts and Grey Hunters in Drop Pods is a fantastic, fun and fluffy army to play.

P.S. Welcome to my Sig
