Hi Everyone,
I had another battle on the weekend and the report is up. Go to www.AntsArmies.com.au and follow the 'Battle Reports' link.

Very nice paint job on those mega nobz.
In the future may I suggest taking the pictures from straighter positions? I think I sprained my neck somewhere between looking at turn 4 and turn 6
Still, a fantastic report and a fun read, keep them coming!

Very cool report. Getting more games in is the best way to learn your army. However, I think you were a bit heavy on the toys in your list. Boyz should always be the staple of an Ork army, then offset with some toys.
You have a very unique and characterful Ork army. There are times I wish I'd kept some of my older stuff for nostalgia sake.
Also, very cool website. Thanks for posting.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby. |

How did the dreads take care of the masque, then charge the greater daemon in the final turn? If you shoot something, you can't assault something else.
Your killakanz would do better carrying grotzookas. A full unit with those deals more damage than a thunderfire cannon, especially on clumped up daemons. You could have throttled the bloodletters handily.
Also, whether they kill them or not, a dreadnought is next to invincible when in combat with a bunch of bloodletters - only heralds really have a chance and they're usually hoping for rending. Send a dread against any large unit of bloodletters if you want them out of your hair for a while.

I think you are right about the Dread and the Masque. The game lasted another turn but because the only movement that happened was one Dread into H2H with Greater Daemon and then no-one died in the combat, I just totally forgot about the turn. I think if you look at the last photo this shows the actual end of the turn with the two Dreads closing in but not actually in H2H. Well spotted!
Grotzooka's eh?? I'll look into it but the main purpose of the Killa Kans is to give me some anti tank units that can shoot.
Cheers,
Ant

I think you are right Sarigar. Too many Toyz. Too be honest one of the reasons I did this was because I don't have a carry case so I didn't want to pack up a bunch of men just to unpack them!! hehe... But it was interesting having them. I don't think I'll use this configuration much, but I enjoyed it.
Cheers,
Ant

Best anti-tank orks have is a warboss in a trukk with a boarding plank. True story.
But honestly, rokkits hit 1/3 of the time. Grotzookas hit 1/3 of the time, but then a portion of the time they scatter they still hit [anytime you roll a 2 or 3 on 2d6] and as the numbers go higher, you could STILL hit part of your target, and you just might hit something else - but they'll land somewhere!
As for anti-tank - the kanz are anti-tank by themselves! If there's a tank that has to die, lootas do the job fairly well, and if not then you can just use the kanz in cc.

In hindsite this was a mistake but the theory was that it was to keep it out of harms way.
