After ten years away from the hobby, I finally returned to the world of WH40k.

Back then, I played Space Marines and Imperial Guard.
Quit for a variety of reasons, but now I'm back with a vengeance

I bought the AoBR starter box around easter, and am busy building a Space Marine taskforce to kick some greenskin (and eventually other) butt. Got about 800 points painted up so far.
The Orks are being handled by my girlfriend, who's new to the hobby but completely enthralled by the 40k universe. She's thinking about Chaos as a second army...

I managed to get hold of two the older Catachan Battleforce boxes (with two Sentinels) after the new codex came out, so the basics for my future IG army are in place as well.

Why am I here?
To talk about the hobby, first of all, but also to pick up some tips about painting and building terrain.

welcome back as well, i know what it's like to come back with a vengeance! i think you do your best painting when you have fresh ideas and goals after a hiatus. i've been back into it for a year and have already finished a space wolves army and have started on a well painted exorcist or angels encarmine army (not sure which way to go yet) do you have any painted pics on the site? love to see them. :-)

I've got an army list worked out for about 3000 points.
Captain, Tac Squad, Dreadnought (all from AoBR), Librarian and Sniper Scouts are ready.
Two squads of Terminators are wip and I've got a Predator sitting in its box.
I know I need more Tac Squads. I can't decide if the SM Battleforce is a good buy for me. Don't know if I'll use Assault Squads, and for Scouts I prefer the Sniper option.

I wrote up some fluff about my chapter, The Secret Of Steel, that will allow me to field some exotic weaponry in friendly games.

I'll try to get some pics up, but I don't have a very good camera.
My painting is OK, but I need to get more into the highlighting/shading side of things.
