I decided to start giving a try at writing up battle reports for our games that my friends and I play in every week.
Please note we try to avoid tournament list power gaming and the such and today's game was more along the lines of stuff we think looked cool

On May 17th we had a 2000 point tag team game (1000 point per player) to show and teach a friend how the game works (somewhat).
Fighting for the "Delta Farce" are General Bean commanding his Space Wolves and the Eldar played by Gurpskier.
Fighting for the "Corrupted Sunz" is Professor Chaos with his Chaos Marines and Rob playing with my Orks.

Team Delta Farce win the roll to decide to deploy and go first.
Wolf Lord joins in with the Grey Hunters with more melee weapons.
Wolf Priest joins in with the larger squad of Grey Hunters with Bolters.
Farseer joins along side the Banshees.

Ork Warboss joins the Nobz in the Trukk.
Burna Boyz ride into battle in the looted wagon.
The Chaos Lord joins the Chaos Terminators and will arrive from reserves via deep strike.

--- Turn 1 Delta Farce ---
For their movement phase, Dire Avengers and all Grey Hunters advance forward to get into better shooting positions.
The Eldar Rangers and Wave Serpent fire on the same squad of Ork Boyz but were only able to take out 2 of them. The Eldar "Blue Falcon" attempted to fire upon the Obliterators but missed completely.
The only unit of Space Wolves able to fire is their Leman Russ tank, which fires across the battlefield hitting and penetrating the Rhino holding the squad of Berserkers, but only able to have it stunned.

--- Turn 1 Corrupted Sunz ---
Ork Boyz squad advance forward hugging craters with Rhinos and other Ork vehicles following along side.
The Ork Looted wagon was able to pick off a Dire Avenger and the Obliterators glanced and stunned the "Blue Falcon".

So the end of turn 1, a total of 3 dead models and 2 stunned vehicles...

--- Turn 2 Delta Farce ---
Just about every unit for Eldar and Space Wolves stand still, with exceptions of the Dire Avengers who continue marching forward and the Wave Serpent transport that turbo boosted along the flank.
The Dire Avengers were in range to fire and decide to Bladestorm upon the Ork Boy squad, taking out half the squad right there. The nearby Grey Hunters joined in the firing and took out an other 5 boyz and causing the Boyz to run off.
The Leman Russ continues trying to take out the Berserker's Rhino and once again only manages to stun the Rhino.

--- Turn 2 Corrupted Sunz ---
The Chaos Terminators arrive from reserve via deep strike and decided to stay a bit safe and arrive in the back with the berserkers. They continue with their previous stratergy as last turn with Ork Boyz advancing with vehicles riding along side.
Orks needing the charge call for the almighty WAAAAAGGHHH!!!!! Getting the Nobz right next to the Dire Avengers and the the Ork Boyz closer to the Grey Hunters (the boyz started fighting a bit too soon however).
The Ork Burna Boyz open fire from the Looted Wagon, burning up 8 Grey Hunters (out of 10) and the Obliterators once again fire upon the Blue Falcons and manage to cause the vehicle to explode, lucky that nothing was close enough to it through. The Terminators trying to stop the Wave Serpent fire their Combi-Plasmas but fail to do any damage.
The Nobz charge at the Dire Avengers; even through the Avengers had the first strike, they were only able to hurt one Nob. The Nobz then just wiped the Avengers out in one quick sweep and start moving back to their Trukk.
Elsewhere, the squad of Ork Boyz charge the squad of Grey Hunters and in a massive bout of horrible rolling, every Grey Hunter (and the Wolf Lord leading them) completely missed the Ork Boyz. The Boyz in turn unleashed their massive amount of attacks and were just able to wipe out the entire squad.

--- Turn 3 Delta Farce ---
The Banshees and Farseer disembark from their transport and ready to charge the Terminators. We messed up on a rule here that could of changed a lot, we thought you couldn't make a standard move when disembarking from a vehicle that didn't move (Sorry Eldar!). Elsewhere, the remaining Grey Hunters make a wall of guns around the remaining Ork Boyz.
The Eldar Rangers open fire on the Terminators and managed to pick off 3 of them. The squad of Grey Hunters and the Leman Russ tank open fire at the Ork Boyz and managed to kill all but 5 of them.
The Banshees charge the Terminators and managed to injure the Chaos Lord and kill an other Terminator, in turn the Terminators and Chaos Lord killed off 5 Banshees and remain locked in combat.

--- Turn 3 Corrupted Sunz ---
Orks lose control of their looted wagon and fire forward out in the open. Nob get tied up moving and are still out of reach of the Trukk. The Rhino carrying the Plague Marines continues their advance up. The Berserkers decide to come out of their Rhino, to keep things somewhat fair we had them unable to move normally as well due to what happen earlier with the Banshees.
Just about everything unloads what they have trying to pick off a Grey Hunter or two but were completely missing.
The remaining Ork Boyz charge into the Grey Hunters, the hunters killed all but the Nob who managed to take a Hunter with him before being chased down.
The Terminators and Banshees continue their fighting and only manage to make one kill each.

--- Turn 4 Delta Farce ---
The remaining Space Wolves move to engage the remaining Ork forces while the Eldar focus on fighting the Chaos Marines.
The Eldar manage to snipe off 4 Berserkers between their Rangers and Wave Serpent.
The Grey Hunters fire their Plasma weapons at the Looted Wagon and immoblized it. The Leman Russ unloads its weapons on the ork Trukk and wrecks it, and in result made the trukk go Ka-boom. Everyone was safe from the blast even through it hit most of the Nobz and a grey hunter.
The Banshees finish off the Terminators and move into cover to avoid the incoming gun fire.

--- Turn 4 Corrupted Sunz ---
The Ork Burna Boyz bail out of the immobilized Looted Wagon and move towards the Space Wolves along side the Nobz. Chaos moves their berserkers toward the banshees to ready a fight there. The Plague Marines move up in their Rhino and disembark to get ready to fight while using their rhino as cover (which pops smoke).
The Burna Boyz unleash their fire on the Grey Hunters, cooking 6 of them while the berserkers were able to pop shot 2 banshees before getting to them.
The Burna boyz charged the Grey Hunters but they each only managed to make one kill. The Nobz were able to catch up and take out the suriviors of the other Grey Hunter squad.
The Berserkers charged the banshees, while the banshees were able to strike first they ended up completely missing but were took 1 casulaty.

Sorry for no pic for the end of turn 4 :(

--- Turn 5 Delta Farce ---
Not a single model moved and unleashed all the fire power they got. The Rangers and the Leman Russ fired down the line and managed to pick off 2 Nobz while the Wave Serpent fired at the Plague Marines and picked one off.
The Grey Hunters continued their fight with the burna boyz, while they only killed on of them they caused panic in the ork ranks and then sweeping advanced taking them out. The fight also continued between the berserkers and banshees, the berserkers were able to take out all the banshees leaving only the Eldar Farseer to fight off the Berserkers.

--- Turn 5 Corrupted Sunz ---
The Plague Marines (and their Rhino) continue moving towards the Rangers while Nobz move in to finish the last of the Grey Hunters. All shooting misses once again (yeah....) but the Berserkers killed off the Farseer while the nobz wiped the last of the Grey Hunters.

--- Turn 6 Delta Farce ---
Seeing the end coming near, the Eldar attempt to use their Wave Serpent to ram the Plague Marine's Rhino but was not able to do anything. The Rangers continue trying to thin the Nob ranks but only manage to kill 1 nob. The Leman Russ unloads into the Plague Marines with everything but only causes one kill.

--- turn 6 Corrupted Sunz ---
The Plague Marine's Rhino moves and tank shocks the Rangers forcing them a bit closer to the plague marines that are moving up into position. Continue the missing theme with shooting, they were able to finish up nicely with the plague marines charging and killing all but 4 rangers who then ended up falling back.

Decided to call the game here with a victory for the combined Ork and Chaos Marine forces.

-=-=- End Game Thoughts -=-=-
--- Team Delta Farce (General Bean & Gurpskier) ---
MVP's: Leman Russ and Rangers
While the Leman Russ performed nicely (usually it fails completely for me!), the Grey Hunters suffered from a mass case of horrible luck and just couldn't hold it together. Having a squad of Grey Hunters and a Wolf Lord all completely miss in their attacks was a big hit and things didn't get much better.

The Eldar actually worked out very well for me and each squad did their job fairly well. The mess up with units disembarking could of made a big difference since I lost my real chance to use my farseer (which I haven't got to work for me yet) but who knows for sure. My rangers really worked out very well, most people ignored them due to their great cover save and they ended up doing some decent damage every turn no matter what they fired at.

--- The Corrupted Sunz (Professor Chaos & Rob) ---
MVP's: Burna Boyz and Nobz
For Rob's 1st game of 40k ever, he did very well and gasped the rules very well. He wasn't very impressed by the Orks but gained a decent understanding on how the game plays. The Ork Boyz bite the dust rather early (but they took out a squad of Grey Hunters!) but the Burnas and Nobz went on a rampage and wrecked whatever they ran across. The War buggy was completely worthless as I don't think it killed a single thing til it made a random shot at the rangers and somehow killed one of them.

Where the Space Wolves couldn't roll worth anything in assaults, my chaos marines kept roll horrible in the shooting phase. Using the boyz as a distraction worked well enough as the majority of my forces were able to avoid attention the boyz were drawing. The combined power of the rangers and banshees made some trouble for my guys but nothing I couldn't really handle. My Obliterators only managed to kill the Falcon this time but doing that opened the way for the burnas and nobz quite a bit. I wished I was able to get my berserkers into the fray but the constant stunning on their rhino prevented that and ended up going toe to toe with banshees.

Hope that battle report worked out well. Like I said this is my 1st attempt at doing so and I do hope to do video battle reports in the future so its a skill I like to development. I'm pretty much the only person in my group that is interested in writing these reports (or able to write down enough detail...) so I hope I get some great reports done. Any feedback would be great on what to do different, I did leave out a bit of the shooting phase since there were tons of misses going on so not sure if that will work out or not.

The main point of this game wasn't to make a great battle report but to teach Rob how to play and with that we did a great job I believe (except the worth disembarking from transport thing with the banshees....).

That was a good report, just say what unit fires at what and the result even if it missed. That was a great first batrep though!

Hello Guardsmen, look at your Leman, now back to mine, now back to your Leman, now back to mine. Sadly, your Leman isn't mine, but if they stopped using standard engines and switched to Lucifer Pattern, they could move like they're mine. Look down, back up. Where are you? Your in a battlefield with the Rhino your Leman could move like. Whats in your hand, back at me, I have it, it's the fire control for the Twin-linked Assault Cannons aimed at you. Look again, it's a Deep-Striked Land-Raider. Anything is possible when your Tanks move like Blood Angels, and not like Guardsmen. I'm on a Baneblade.
