Alright, this is it. I've committed to collecting Guard past the "just a dabble" point (£100 commitment), so I'm going to be gluing, converting and painting these guys.

Now I've never actually finished painted an army fully before, so I'm hoping that starting a blog will commit me to finishing.

My plan is that every week, I will have a new unit / vehicle built, have another painted to basic tabletop, and one last improved to decent tabletop standard. On occasion, when the sight of another regular human makes me want to gouge my own eyes out, I will switch to one of my Daemon, Lizardmen or Dark Angel units for a bit of a change.

So far, I have the following models, which come conveniently to 500pts:

Company Command Squad w/ Power Fist, Vox-Caster, Regimental Standard
Platoon Command Squad w/ Vox-Caster
Infantry Squad w/ Vox-Caster, Heavy Bolter team, Grenade Launcher
Infantry Squad w/ Heavy Bolter team, Grenade Launcher
Veteran Squad w/ 2 Meltaguns (NB: One of these will initially be just a random Guard model I use to fill the unit. It will eventually have 3 Meltas)
Heavy Weapon Squad w/ Autocannons
Scout Sentinel w/ Autocannon
Scout Sentinel w/ Autocannon

It's a lot of models for 500 pts (58 total, assuming you count Heavy Weapon Teams as 2 models) but the Haloran 41st will be raised!

Notes:

These units have not yet been built, and are sitting on their sprues.
These units have been built, no more.
These units have been painted to basic tabletop - three colours, two washes, no basing.
These units have been fully painted, with extra highlights, basing complete and (where appropriate) names painted onto the base. Yay!

First pics to come tomorrow evening, though I doubt anyone will be interested in seeing an unpainted CCS and an unpainted Sentinel...
