I'm thinking about making the jump to Privateer Press sometime this year, and while I really like the look of Warmachine, Hordes is really drawing my attention. A lot. I like the look of the Skorne, but I'm not so sure about their backstory, or really, what they're good at? I ask because I also love the Trollblood backstory and their whole "crazy butt-kickin' Scotsmen" look. I've pretty much figured out that Trollblood is good at hurting people and breaking things , but what are Skorne's main strengths/weaknesses?

I was told skorne are mainly a slow moving close combat army.

All the factions are good at hurting people/breaking things. The point is how.

Trollbloods have the whole warrior clan type guys while Skorne have the military society
type guys.

Skorne's main focus is on the melee side of things, the shooting is purely to support melee.

The skorne is relaying on synergies between the units so some consideration must be given on the army build as you will need to bring some units together to reap benefits. For example bringing cannoneer together with extoller to get LOS to all the targets in range or Cetrati with Krea to get high armor rock for your army.

Both Trolls and Skorne are on the attrition side of things they can take some hits and return the favor, and in skorne's case some units gain benefits when your troopers die near them.
