Well, another one. Don't worry, he's a loyalist. As First-Sergeant Dominus stepped into the shadow of the dark jungle canopy, he felt that he was being watched. His large armor, forged in the furnaces of war from its previous owners, denoted him as a Space Marine. They were the finest warriors in the galaxy, the steely will of the Immortal God Emperor of Mankind. Though the Emperor was all but dead, he and his brothers still fought on in His name. They had been sent here to crush this world into compliance. The steam of the jungle had fogged his vision slightly, but he had no trouble picking out his squad, clad in the blue of the Ultramarines chapter. He waved them forward, and they moved cautiously. The Ork menace had not been cleared from this jungle, and tenth-squad had been given the honor of cleaning up. As he started to vox his brothers, a loud shout of "Waaaagh!" came from his left. He turned, his bolt pistol already firing as a group of Orks rushed from the jungle. His battle brothers also responded by opening fire with their bolters. Battle brother Cassius took it a step further, igniting the jungle and the xenos with the his man-portable flamer. The orks had numbers though, and more than three-fourths of the Orkish hordes had survived the firestorm to reach close combat. Dominus drew his sword, praising the Emperor as he sliced through an ork's chest. As the ork fell, Dominus pushed him down and brought down his sword on the head of an ork with a devastating swing of his power sword. The ork wailed in pain, and Dominus put him out of his misery with a bolt to the head. As he felled another Ork, he heard a guttural roar and a large ork stepped forward. He had a darker skin than his mates, and he had a large red scar from his forhead straight down to his jaw. He pounded his chest in dominance, and swung his large-brutish axe at Dominus' head. He ducked, swinging his sword in a return blow. The ork blocked the blow and swung in return, laughing loudly and boastfully. Dominus rolled to the side, seeing the flash of silver that missed his head, and swung his sword in a low-arc. He cut the ork from the top of his head all the way down to his jaw. The ork stood their, dumbstruck and stunned, but rather than falling, he smiled and barked a command to the other brutes. Dominus' squad had killed many xenos, but they had lost two of their number. Infuriated, Dominus rained furious blows upon the Ork, breaking his opponent's weapon in a fell blow. The Ork immediately quit his assault, frightened by his foe's newfound rage and ordered a general retreat. As they ran, Dominus found that he couldn't control himself, and he ran forward, slicing his opponents down with a rekindled rage. He found his previous challenger, stabbing him like a cowardly dog. He ordered his squad to fire on the remaining Orks, and soon, their was nothing left to oppose the space marines.
