I'm an Australian living in westport, ct. Long time lurker,but finally got around to joining. MadDokRox? Well, I'm a geologist by training and I play orks (my wifes name is Gretchen - how could I not?! - ha!). Well, not just orks of course:

I play 40k - orks, nids, dark angels, guard

Fantasy - VC, chaos, lizards, orcs

Also play warmachine, hordes, warmaster, epic, bfg, even lotr at a pinch (though I'd happily see those pages freed up in white dwarf - why does GW drop games like hot potatoes but hang on to lotr for grim death?!).

Also play ancients - DBA.

I live in southwestern connecticut. I play very little bit would like to - but can't travel too far.

For most of the armies above I have 1000-1500 points.

Wow you sound like you have a ton of cash to be able to have so many armies,lol.How does geology pay?

I don't know if it's too much of a trek for you, but I would recommend Sarge's in New London CT if you're interested in playing. Other places to play in CT include the Time Machine and GW in Manchester. There's a guy floating around the forums, CTGamer, that runs a club in his basement, but I don't really know anything about that. Welcome to Dakka and I hope you like Connecticut, I sure did.

Haha - actually I work as an analyst these days, but geo pays well if you don't mind living out in the boonies... But those armies are all small (magpie gamer) and represent collecting since about 1993.

Yeah, new London and Manchester are a bit far. Clockwork comics in orange and a place in white plains have pick up games - just have to get off my butt and go play more! I play about 2 games a year at this point... :(

Actually, they were the first army that I ever played. Looking back, I picked them because:

(1) I had some Space Marine Armour Variant models from the late 80s, hence marines

(2) Dark Green wasn't going to inspire my brother to so 'oh, as if any future soldier is going to wear that colour!' (c.f. blood angels).

(3) Unlike Space Wolves, I could paint the emblem free hand.

All that said, I reckon I made the right choice - one copy of the old Angels of Death codex and I was hooked on the fluff.
