ok here is my stonecrusher carnifex conversion that i posted on another forum but i think poeple here will appreciate me
putting it up here to.
i used the defiler claws as a base for the wrecker claws as they are just perfect for the job.now the carapace had a smale miscast on it (do any of you had that problem??).
anyway here are thefirst pictures:lots of pitures:

here are the starting pieces, now the defiler claws are actualy bigger than the wrecking claws of the forgeworld model

i had a spare piece of forge world electric tube from a titan model that turned out to be the perfect base for the carapace
battering ram,now as you know FW resin can be easely shaped ones hot so only hold it in hot water for about 15 to 20 sec and than bend it in shape,i just had to bend it a little to give it a curved look, and then clue it in place.

next i had to make some fins to get the GS into shape plasticard of about 2mm is a good start make sure you get it to go along the curved FW part.

now the wrecker arms are a bit tricky as you will need a lot of GS,first cut up some arms from a carnifex use the upperarm parts
one from a normal arm and the crushing claw arm,cut of the part from the defiler claws as you see on the foto
than clue the parts together.

this whas my first start of useing GS to the exstreme(WARNING: MAKE SURE YOUR FIRST LAYER OF GS CURES BEFORE YOU APLLY THE NEXT LAYER OR YOU WILL RUINE THE FIRST LAYER) i started to make the muscle or flesh parts by applying
smale parts of GS, first of all always model it in the shape you want it to be even if its not yet the finished result
why? because you will have a basis for the next layer of GS to work on and it will be easy to model because you already have the right shape.

these parts will be the base for the wrecking ball as im going to make the model using magnets so i can give it other options for weapons, gitarwire for the sinew and a wooden bead the size of a small walnut for the ball itself.

the GS at this point is easy just make some GS and place it any where on the ball or gitarwire and
drag it along the sinew.as for the wrecking arms fill it up with GS again make sure you already start shaping it
in the desired shape.(fingerprints are allowed at this point ).but not desired.

at this time you have to make sure there are no more parts showing that makes it look like defiler claws or
metal like the FW electric tube.to make the ribbed shape in the claws use your sculpting tool first make an oval shape
next make lines that go from top to bottom don`t go al the way to the bottom as you will have to turn around the claw and do the same here but use the lines you already made.DO NOT PRESS HARD.

here you see the tail weapon thats done by applying some GS and letting it cure next use your modeling knife
to cut it.

hope you have enjoyed the WIP tutorial any questions or comments are welcome.
cheers and happy converting.

love it!, seems like alot of work but probably alot cheaper! , im not very good with GS but you've certainly inspired me to try make my carnifex's alittle more interesting.

If you do the math, FW is cheaper(assuming you don't have a spare pair of defiler claws lying around and you have to buy a defiler)

Sorry for bursting your bubble converter.
