Greetings to All
I wish I had found this when I was more actively interested in Warhammer
40k. I've been aware of and purchased since the Rogue Trader hardback rules came out. Back then I was interested in and had small forces of Dark Angels and Eldar. Since then I have purchased (but not opened or painted) large amounts of Necrons and Daemonhunters and Witch Hunters (owned every
DH and
WH model by
GW except for some Forge World) but got rid of it all due to life circumstances.
Unfortunately, I've only been able to play face to face once before my disability started really hampering my activities. As far as painting, I've seen a lot of badly painted models and I never wanted to ruin the models and never really had the patience or the steady hand to do justice to the models, although the Necrons would probably have been the easiest to paint to a tabletop standard. I painted one miniature at a convention: it looked like a Skaven in Power Armour with a flamer and bolter (obviously non
GW) but it came out pretty well, but took all day to paint. Got rid of that with a bunch of Space Marines stuff that I gave away.
Now I'm looking to get out of the
GW hobby, even though I've got my largest assembled and mostly painted (by others) forces of Chaos Space Marines and Chaos Daemons I've ever had ready to play. Which is a shame. Only played once, against an Ork force that was more than twice my size and won. Very small force (500 pts) which only afforded me two squads and an
HQ but it was fun.
Now my stuff is taking up too much space, cluttering up my living area. I've posted earlier about trade or sale of my stuff, but I'm not looking to piece meal everything, because making trips to the post office are draining on me physically using public transportation, so I prefer to have someone pick it up if possible. I live in the zip code in my username. I might be willing to send off small items that I wouldn't have to get special boxes for. Now I'm concentrating on my Confrontation and
AT-43 stuff which on one hand has really nice metal sculpts and on the other hand has some decent prepainted plastic which are not bad and there are some pretty good prices to be had and most seem to play with decent sized forces not the huge Apocalypse armies that the local
GW battle bunker seems to encourage for organized play. Can't afford it and can't transport it and certainly don't have room for it where I live.
Well, that's enough from me! Enjoy your gaming everyone, no matter what you're playing! I'm not totally getting away from the
GW universe - I'm collecting the Dark Heresy
RPG now. Love the detailed fluff of the Warhammer universe.
Oh, and also have the original WFRP stuff in case anyone is interested in that, again not for mail. They're heavy as a collection anyway.
