Hey all,

Recently started a Skaven Army, now starting to paint while I wait for the funds to finish off the army. I'm mainly looking for some C&C on the paint scheme, but will try to update this Post

First model
Clanrat Test Model WIP
This pretty much the scheme I'm wanting, almost finished with it

Touch ups are still needed on the feet and face. The shield actually has more depth than in the pictures. As well as the red being toned down. Still a WIP, but you get the idea

Nice to see a Skaven army on here. The finest WH army in my opinion.

I went for a totally brown pallente with mine; helped to link the skin colours with armour, robes etc. Red looks nice, so long as it doesn't get overpowered. The main thing to concentrate on with Skaven is the skin; I find that stands out most.

I really should be spending my time more constructively.

Thanks guys,

Yeah, the skin really is quite annoying. I think a few more washes of Badab black should tone it down, i would like to get it at least a little darker.

No, highlight it up! Dulling it down misses the point; I went to town on my Skavens skin and it helps detract from stuff you might not be happy with. People expect to see a dull and dirty robe; the skin is the character of a model and deserves that extra attention. Also, if you can learn to paint flesh, that's 40% of most models sorted right there. More if you play Slannesh.

I really should be spending my time more constructively.
