We did a 4000 point a side 2v2
apoc game this afternoon, and Im proud to say that there were only two poxys, as one of the Chaos land raiders was a Crusader, and some of the Tyranid warriors were Ravaners, but we had all the rest were correctly modeled. Sorry if its to long. Good guys (My friend and I) took the
Replacements and
Strongholds Strategic assets, while the bad guys took the
Disruptor Beacon and the
Vortex grenade, which was in the possession of the Nightbringer. The good guys took 1 Formation, the
Splinter Raid, while the bad guys had 3; The
Doombringer Annihilation Force,
Eye of the Hive, and the
Monolith Phalanx. Battle happened as follows.
Good guys won the first turn, and chose the terrain heavy side of the board, there I set up my three buildings, which were evenly spaced along our deployment zone. We set up our gunlines, and put the Pathfinders, Maugen Ra, and a Farseer in one of the buildings, Team Wolfhound in another, and the devastator squad in the tallest one, and the rest of our army dug into cover. Archon Shrade and all 5 raiders were in deep strike, as well as the Drop Pod full of Sternguard. The bad guys put the Monoliths in evenly spaced and set up the landraiders full of Tyranid warriors, the Nightbringer, and the Hive tyrant behind this field that the Monoliths were producing that blocked psychic powers and made all weapons that passed through it have -1 strength. 1st turn, The Splinter Raid arrived behind the bulk of the bad guys army, but did nothing with their dark lances. The drop pod full of sternguard tried to land right next to the Nightbringer, but the disruptor beacon caused them to land in the most desolate corner. My Chapter Master called down his orbital strike on one of the Monoliths, but only stunned it. The Faseer and warlocks on bikes fortuned themselves and turboboosted up, giving themselves a 3+ re-rollable cover save. Thankfully, one the the landraiders wasnt in the Necron field, so the Dark lance Ravager shot it and wreaked it, causing the warriors to get out. The bad guys turn was more productive. The Doombringer Annihilation Force came in right infront of the building full of Pathfinders and Maugen Ra. The Nightbringer chucked the Vortex Grenade right in the middle of all the Raiders, but since they were flyers for that turn, it didnt affect them. Two on the Monoliths tried to shoot their Particle whips at the Farseer and warlocks on bikes, but didnt do any damage. One of the Terminator squads teleported behind my Armored Sentinel and shot it with the Reaper Autocannon, Immobilizing it. The second squad landed right in front of my Thunderfire cannon, which at the time was behind a barricade. They used their heavy flamer and killed the gun, but the Techmarine was free to move around.
2nd Turn, the raiders became normal skimmers, and the Vortex grenade scattered onto the Archon Shrade's raider, killing everyone inside instantly. After laughing at the exact precision of the scatter, the good guys proceeded with their turn. The Farseer with the Pathfinders guided the squad, and doomed one of the Terminator Squads. The Farseer with the Wraithguard in the wave serpent guided the Wraithguard, and Doomed the Terminators that shot my Sentinel. the Wraithguard disembarked next to one of the Monoliths, poised to kill it. The Land Speeders arrived from reserves, and targeted the doomed Terminators. The Talos, which had been hanging next to my Sentinel, swung around and moved towards the new intruders. After shooting them, only 7 Terminators and the lord still stood. The Talos Charged and killed 2 out of the three terminators, and swept the sole survivor. The Wraithguard failed to kill the Monolith, but managed to immobilize it. Good Turn!
