I couldn't find this in the search so I figured I would post it.

I was at the GW near my house yesterday painting some IG and the assistant manager told me that in the near future (didn't know or wouldn't tell specific date) GW is releasing a plastic LR variant box that supposedly has the executioner, punisher and I think the vanquisher (maybe demolisher I don't remember exactly).

Anyone else heard similar?

I tried to order from Demolishers from GW recently (couple of days ago) and was told they are unavailable. I was then told that a new LR kit would be released in August and include various options for the turret weapons and sponson weapons and be all plastic.

It made me pretty angry that I placed a $150 Forgeworld order a week before that phone call that consisted of like 90% LR turrets.

Right now there's a Leman Russ Demolisher kit and a standard Leman Russ kit. The upcoming Demolisher kit has the Demolisher, Executioner and Punisher options. What I'm wondering is if a) this new kit will also have parts for a standard Leman Russ, meaning they'll reduce the Leman Russ down to one kit, or b) the existing Leman Russ kit will remain in production with no changes (boo), or c) there will be a second, new Leman Russ kit, hopefully Battle Tank, Exterminator, Vanquisher and Eradicator. I'm hoping to hold off on my Vanquisher Forge World order.

Think of it like this. Now you can swap turrets to whatever configuration you need for a specific engagement, eh?

cut the bare barrel section from your leamen russ turret, add plasticard pipe of appropriate size. Vwa la! They don't need to release a kit for a longer barrel. I converted 3 Vanquisher turrets in... 20 minutes?

I am glad you like converting and find it easy. Some poeple, like me, don't like to convert as much as you and would be very happy to see a second LR kit.

Lol. I don't care much for conversions but I'll do them when necessary as long as the task is very very simple. Like adding barrel length to a leamen russ. If you wan't to use a Vanq, just modify a barrel. It's THAT simple. This should take you less then 5 minutes and the only tools you will need are glue and an exacto knife.

After my most recent Forge World order, it's become apparent to me that I likely spend as much time cleaning up the poorly made FW product as I would making my own stuff.

I had a spare Baneblade and Hellhammer barrel lying about, voila! Instant Vanquisher and Eradicator.
